Effect of high-temperature drying and restraint on twist of Norway spruce
During drying, timber distortion is a major defect mainly due to shrinkage anisotropy, differences in longitudinal shrinkage, and spiral grain. The distortion can be reduced by external restraint and use of appropriate kiln schedules.

A dual‐timescale reservoir based on monolithically 3D (M3D)‐integrated CNT solid ion‐gated transistors is demonstrated. Tunable ionic dynamics and pulse‐engineered operation enable linear and symmetric synaptic updates. The M3D‐integrated array achieves robust temporal encoding and accurate classification of moving MNIST sequences, highlighting its ...

Suggestion of kiln schedules to conventional drying of lumber
Atualmente o nível de perdas de madeira ligado ao processo de secagem alcança valores significativos. Um dos fatores que contribui para essa situação é a carência de programas de secagem apropriados para as diversas espécies de madeiras.

MEASUREMENT OF COLOUR DEVELOPMENT IN PINUS RADIATA SAPWOOD BOARDS DURING DRYING AT VARIOUS SCHEDULE
Colour changes, such as kiln brown stain, that develop in Pinus radiata boards during kiln drying can reduce the value of the final wood products and result in significant losses due to downgrade or waste of dried wood by removing the darkened surfaces ...

QUALITY OF SAWN TIMBER DRYING OF Eucalyptus dunnii
In the present study, the behaviour of Eucalyptus dunnii wood drying in a conventional pilot kiln was evaluated, using three drying schedules. Each drying schedule had an initial vaporization (presteaming) of 3 hours after one hour of initial warming ...

Malectin alleviates high glucose‐induced ER stress and damage in placental trophoblasts, a function dependent on its six critical carbohydrate‐binding residues. In a GDM mouse model, administration of TAT‐Malectin ameliorated hyperglycemia and placental ER stress and prevented fetal macrosomia.

New methodology to optimize sorting in wood drying
One important problem in lumber drying is to maintain the lumber moisture content distribution within certain minimum and maximum values. Over-drying and under-drying are common causes for lower grade recovery and dimensional stability problems.
