Focused online visual-motor coordination for a dual-arm robot manipulator

2016 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (ICRA), 2016
Coordination between visual sensors and robot manipulators is necessary for successful manipulation. This paper proposes a novel visual-motor coordination method that performs online parameter estimation of an RGB-D camera mounted in a robot head without any external markers.

A Multi-Priority Control of Asymmetric Coordination for Redundant Dual-Arm Robot

International Journal of Humanoid Robotics, 2019
The paper develops a multi-priority control method of asymmetric coordination for a redundant dual-arm robot. A novel dual-arm coordination impedance is introduced to the multi-priority control, and then the performance of the object tracking and the redundant joints is improved by the regulation of the relative Cartesian errors between two arms.

Hybrid position/force coordination for dual-arm manipulation of flexible materials

Proceedings of the 1997 IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robot and Systems. Innovative Robotics for Real-World Applications. IROS '97, 2002
The problem of coordinating two arms for the manipulation of flexible materials is studied through the bending of a flexible beam. The solution proposed in this paper is based on a hybrid position/force approach. The choice of controlled variables in each direction is determined by minimum-effort optimality criteria.

Coordinated workspace analysis and trajectory planning of redundant dual-arm robot

2016 13th International Conference on Ubiquitous Robots and Ambient Intelligence (URAI), 2016
Aimed at the coordinated workspace and motion trajectory of the redundant dual-arm robot, the corresponding methods of workspace analysis and trajectory planning are proposed in this paper. Firstly, forward kinematics model of redundant dual-arm robot was established by D-H parameter method, and its inverse kinematics analytic solutions were given ...

The coordinated motion planning of a dual-arm space robot for target capturing

Robotica, 2011
SUMMARYIn this paper, autonomous motion control approaches to generate the coordinated motion of a dual-arm space robot for target capturing are presented. Two typical cases are studied: (a) The coordinated dual-arm capturing of a moving target when the base is free-floating; (b) one arm is used for target capturing, and the other for keeping the base ...

Dual arm robot astronaut design and coordinated force control

2017 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2017
According to China's space station operation and maintenance requirements, this paper first discusses the dual arm robot astronaut mission requirements and design principles. Then the robot's configuration, anthropomorphic robot arm and its driving joint, five fingered dexterous hand, head, neck and other mechanisms are designed in detail.

Modeling Dual-Arm Coordination for Posture: An Optimization-Based Approach

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2005
<div class="htmlview paragraph">In the field of human modeling, there is an increasing demand for predicting human postures in real time. However, there has been minimal progress with methods that can incorporate multiple limbs with shared degrees of freedom (DOFs).

Learning Dual Arm Coordinated Reachability Tasks in a Humanoid Robot with Articulated Torso

2018 IEEE-RAS 18th International Conference on Humanoid Robots (Humanoids), 2018
Performing dual arm coordinated (reachability)tasks in humanoid robots require complex planning strategies and this complexity increases further, in case of humanoids with articulated torso. These complex strategies may not be suitable for online motion planning.
