Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Dual Boundary Element Method for fatigue crack growth: implementation of the Richard’s criterion [PDF]
A new criterion for fatigue crack growth, whose accuracy was previously tested in the literature with the Finite Element Method, is here adopted with a Dual Boundary Element formulation.

Estimation of Stress Intensity Factor by Using a New Fast Multipole Dual-Boundary Element Method
Cracks and defects are inevitable during the long-term use of structures. This study focuses on determining the stress intensity factors of multi-cracked structures by using a new fast multipole dual boundary element method.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

This paper presents an analytical model of a dual‐stator spoke‐type permanent magnet (DSSTPM) synchronous machines accounting for tooth‐tips. Based on the two‐dimensional (2‐D) subdomain technique, the field domain of DSSTPM machine is divided into seven

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Trefftz- type FEM for solving orthotropic potential problems
A simple Trefftz-type finite element method (TFEM) is proposed for solving certain potential problems in orthotropic media. The "body force", which is induced by internal sources or sinks, may produce domain integrals in the standard Trefftz finite ...
