Puffed-up Inner Rings and Razor-thin Outer Rings in Structured Protoplanetary Disks
The vertical distribution of pebbles in protoplanetary disks is a fundamental property influencing planet formation, from dust aggregation to the assembly of planetary cores.

Dust formation around WC stars [PDF]
The presence of heated circumstellar dust around WC type Wolf-Rayet stars is reviewed in terms of the episodic or persistent condensation of carbon grains in their stellar winds. At present, 19 WC stars are known to form dust persistently and 7 episodically. Infrared spectroscopy suggests that the grains are amorphous rather than graphitic carbon.

The C‐terminal domain of yeast Arginyltransferase1 is essential for its catalytic activity
Arginyltransferase 1 (Ate1), a eukaryotic enzyme, catalyses arginylation, transferring arginine from tRNA‐Arg to the amino terminus of the target protein. Overexpression of Ate1 in yeast is lethal and is dependent on arginylation. This study elucidates how mutations in the cofactor‐binding and active site of Ate1 and truncation of its structural ...

MARK4 enhances stress granule formation under oxidative stress and increases tau accumulation
MARK4 (red dots) localizes to stress granules (orange dots) and promotes their formation under oxidative stress by modulating TIA1 (blue dots). MARK4 and TIA1 synergistically increase tau (purple) accumulation, and the reduction of the TIA1 ortholog suppresses neurodegeneration in a fly model.

Morning dust events observed around Thaumasia Plateau in the southern hemisphere of Mars
We investigated the local-time dependence of dust event formation around Thaumasia Plateau of Mars using 3,298 images acquired by the Emirates eXploration Imager (EXI) from L s = 7° in MY 36 to L s = 43° in MY 37.

TGF‐β1 stimulation downregulates lysosomal channel TRPML1 in pulmonary fibroblasts. The TRPML1 agonist ML‐SA5 suppressed fibroblast‐to‐myofibroblast activation and collagen production. Mechanistically, ML‐SA5 inhibited mTOR phosphorylation, restored autophagic flux, and its effects were enhanced by rapamycin (mTOR inhibitor) and reversed by MHY1485 ...

The Bulk Densities of Small Solar System Bodies as a Probe of Planetesimal Formation
Constraining the formation processes of small solar system bodies is crucial for gaining insights into planetesimal formation. Their bulk densities, determined by their compressive strengths, offer valuable information about their formation history.

Dust dynamics in disk dust traps and late planetesimal formation
Context. Streaming instability (SI) is currently the leading model for planetesimal formation in protoplanetary disks, but it typically operates on the radial drift timescale of solids toward the star, that is, within approximately the first million ...
