DUST EMISSION AND STAR FORMATION IN STEPHAN'S QUINTET [PDF]
ABSTRACT We analyze a comprehensive set of MIR/FIR observations of Stephan's Quintet (SQ), taken with the Spitzer Space Telescope. Our study reveals the presence of a luminous (L IR ≈ 4.6 × 1043 erg s-1) and extended component of infrared dust emission, not connected with the main bodies of the galaxies, but roughly ...

LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Episodic dust formation in astrophysical sources [PDF]
At first sight, it is surprising that dust nucleation and growth can occur in the harsh environment of a Wolf-Rayet star wind. However, we know that episodic formation occurs in several different types of astrophysical source. Of particular relevance to our efforts to gain a fuller understanding of the process in WC stars is the extensive work that has

Extracellular vesicle (EV) lipidomic profiling of plasma and ascites from patients with high‐grade serous ovarian cancer and of ovarian cancer cell lines reveals enrichment of triglycerides (TGs), diacylglycerols (DGs), phosphatidylcholine (PCs), sphingomyelins (SMs), reflecting tumor metabolic reprogramming.

This study identifies ARHGAP5, in addition to the frequently mutated ARHGAP35, as significantly mutated in endometrial cancer. Mutations in both genes co‐occur and are associated with their correlated downregulation. Functional CRISPR studies show that both paralogs regulate similar pathways, including actin cytoskeleton organization.

The 3D time evolution of the dust size distribution in protostellar envelopes
Context. Dust plays a fundamental role during protostellar collapse and disk and planet formation. Recent observations suggest that efficient dust growth can begin early in the protostellar envelopes, potentially even before the formation of the disk ...

Formation Of Dust In Enterprises Of The Bread Industry And Decreasing Of Dust Formation
The basic production processes of the enterprises have been shaken off bread products as sources of formation of polluting substances. It is shown that the technological processes of enterprises are accompanied by the release of dust into production facilities and the environment and this adversely affects the microclimate and sanitary and hygienic ...

Dust formation and the binary companions of supernovae [PDF]
Supernovae (SNe) should both frequently have a binary companion at death and form significant amounts of dust. This implies that any binary companion must lie at the center of an expanding dust cloud and the variable obscuration of the companion as the SN remnant (SNR) expands will both unambiguously mark the companion and allow the measurement of the ...

This paper shows that size‐exclusion chromatography and sequential centrifugation applied to seminal plasma enrich for different populations of extracellular vesicles. This may significantly affect the detection and analysis of extracellular vesicle‐associated cancer biomarkers.

Self-induced dust traps: overcoming planet formation barriers
International audiencePlanet formation is thought to occur in discs around young stars by the aggregation of small dust grains into much larger objects.
