Description of the Damn Yankee Controller (DYC)

open access: yes, 2002
Versions of the Damn Yankee Controller (DYC) have been used to read out digitizers on the Fermilab E791, E835, FOCUS, SELEX, and KTeV experiments. The DYC accepts 16-bit data and control signals from 10 MHz Emitter Coupled Logic (ECL) PORT digitizing modules such as LeCroy CAMAC PCOS latches and FERA Analog to Digital Converters (ADCs).

Research on motor braking-based DYC strategy for distributed electric vehicle [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
In order to bring into full play the advantages of motor braking and enhance the handling stability of distributed electric vehicle, a motor braking-based direct yaw moment control (DYC) strategy was proposed. This strategy could identify whether a vehicle has under-steered or overs-steered, to calculate the direct yaw moment required for vehicle ...

Integrated control performance of drive-by-wire independent drive electric vehicle

open access: yesInternational Journal of Metrology and Quality Engineering, 2019
In order to improve the stability and safety of vehicles, it is necessary to control them. In this study, the integrated control method of drive-by-wire independent drive electric vehicle was studied.

Rule Extraction with Connection Forgetting from Neural Network DYC Controller.

open access: yesTRANSACTIONS OF THE JAPAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS Series C, 2001
Recently, direct yaw moment control (DYC) using active brake has been applied on some vehicles. Its control law is determined from result of nonlinear simulation analysis. But, choosing significant inputs to DYC controller is difficult because of nonlinearity of tire-road force.

The constraint algebra of quantum gravity in the loop representation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
We study the algebra of constraints of quantum gravity in the loop representation based on Ashtekar's new variables. We show by direct computation that the quantum commutator algebra reproduces the classical Poisson bracket one, in the limit in which ...

On a generalisation of the Banach indicatrix theorem

open access: yes, 2016
We prove that for any regulated function $f:\left[a,b\right]\rightarrow\mathbb{R}$ and $c\geq 0$ the infimum of the total variations of functions approximating $f$ with accuracy $c/2$ is equal $\int_{\mathbb{R}} n_{c}^{y} \mathrm{d} y,$ where $n_{c}^{y}$

A Pomeron Approach to Hadron-Nucleus and Nucleus-Nucleus "Soft" Interactions at High Energy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We formulate a generalization of the Glauber formalism for hadron-nucleus and nucleus-nucleus collisions based on the Pomeron approach to high energy interactions. Our treatment is based on two physical assumptions (i.e.

Enhancing Autonomous Vehicle Stability through Pre-Emptive Braking Control for Emergency Collision Avoidance

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
A pre-emptive braking control method is proposed to improve the stability of autonomous vehicles during emergency collision avoidance, aiming to imitate the realistic human driving experience. A linear model predictive control is used to derive the front

A Human-Machine-Cooperative-Driving Controller Based on AFS and DYC for Vehicle Dynamic Stability

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
It is a difficult and important project to coordinate active front steering (AFS) and direct yaw moment control (DYC), which has great potential to improve vehicle dynamic stability.

Back Propagation Neural Network-Based Fault Diagnosis and Fault Tolerant Control of Distributed Drive Electric Vehicles Based on Sliding Mode Control-Based Direct Yaw Moment Control

open access: yesVehicles, 2023
Distributed-drive vehicles utilize independent drive motors on the four-wheel hubs. The working conditions of the wheel-hub motors are so harsh that the motors are prone to failing under different driving conditions.
