Collaborative Sensing with Interactive Learning using Dynamic Intelligent Virtual Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Although the availability of sensor data is becoming prevalent across many domains, it still remains a challenge to make sense of the sensor data in an efficient and effective manner in order to provide users with relevant services.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Assistive Planning in Complex, Dynamic Environments: a Probabilistic Approach

open access: yes, 2015
We explore the probabilistic foundations of shared control in complex dynamic environments. In order to do this, we formulate shared control as a random process and describe the joint distribution that governs its behavior. For tractability, we model the

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Mastering Requirements Volatility: Strategies for Dynamic Environments and Multiple Stakeholders in Government Software Projects

open access: yesIEEE Access
Government software projects face challenges due to requirement volatility, dynamic environments, and multiple stakeholders. This study examines these challenges through a case study of the Brazilian National Textbook Program (PNLD) software platform. We

Coarse Semantic-Based Motion Removal for Robust Mapping in Dynamic Environments

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
SLAM in dynamic environments is still a severe challenge for most feature-based SLAM systems. Moving objects will lead to terrible errors in the calculation of frame tracking and local mapping.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

An evolutionary algorithm to track changes of optimum value locations in dynamic environments

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2004
Non-stationary, or dynamic, problems change over time. There exist a variety of forms of dynamism. The concept of dynamic environments in the context of this paper means that the fitness landscape changes during the run of an evolutionary algorithm ...
