A novel approach to enhance methane production in anaerobic digestion of waste activated sludge via pre-enrichment by a microbial consortium of degrading fungi [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology
Both fungi and bacteria contribute to the efficiency of activated sludge processes. However, fungal degradability has historically been overlooked in the anaerobic fermentation of waste-activated sludge (WAS).

Safety evaluation of the food enzyme endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase from the non‐genetically modified Trichoderma citrinoviride strain TCLSC [PDF]

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 24, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract The food enzyme endo‐1,4‐β‐xylanase (4‐β‐D‐xylan xylanohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.8) is produced with the non‐genetically modified Trichoderma citrinoviride strain TCLSC by Advanced Enzyme Technologies Ltd. It was considered free from viable cells of the production organism. It is intended to be used in four food manufacturing processes.
