The graphical abstract image of bamboo‐like whisker‐reinforced Ca‐P bioceramics accelerating large segmental bone regeneration. ABSTRACT Regenerative repair of segmental bone defect remains a major clinical challenge. The conventional mental implants suffer from mechanical strength mismatch and long‐term foreign bodies presence.

Novel phosphate-activated macrophages prevent ectopic calcification by increasing extracellular ATP and pyrophosphate. [PDF]
PURPOSE:Phosphorus is an essential nutrient involved in many pathobiological processes. Less than 1% of phosphorus is found in extracellular fluids as inorganic phosphate ion (Pi) in solution.

NET‐DNA is enriched during early endometriotic lesion establishment and drives anoikis resistance by promoting an ANXA2–TMEM215–BiP axis. This pathway strengthens ER–mitochondria contacts, enhances PINK1/Parkin‐associated mitophagy, preserves mitochondrial homeostasis, and supports ectopic stromal cell survival, thereby facilitating lesion persistence ...

Brown adipocyte sheets are engineered to protect the heart against myocardial ischemia–reperfusion injury by restraining ferroptosis. Upon transplantation onto the cardiac surface, they improve cardiac function, limit infarction and fibrosis, and enhance angiogenesis.

Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...

Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is a hereditary ectopic calcification disorder affecting the skin, eyes, and blood vessels. Recently, the DNA damage response (DDR), in particular PARP1, was shown to be involved in aberrant mineralization, raising the ...

This study identifies the mechanosensor PIEZO1 as a key factor in promoting acute myeloid leukemia progression and uncovers a ferroptosis defense system mediated by PIEZO1‐HIF1A‐SLC7A11 axis that is essential for leukemia stem cell maintenance. This ferroptotic defense system may represent a unique vulnerability for leukemia stem cells, providing a ...

Cutaneous ectopic breast calcification in a haemodialysis patient
This case report details the unique breast calcification and swellings of a 61-year-old lady. The ectopic breast calcification was a result of chronic renal failure and hyperparathyroidism secondary to vesiculo-ureteric reflux nephropathy. Subcutaneous nodules were also noted around her ileostomy (from surgery due to Crohn's disease) and abdominal wall.
