Technobiological Pathways for High‐CO₂ Capture Using Micro‐/Macroalgae: Genetic Engineering, Process Automation, and Value‐Added Bioproducts

open access: yesAsia-Pacific Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions have emerged as one of the most critical drivers of climate change; this is primarily due to high concentrations and long atmospheric life of carbon dioxide (CO2). For a significant amount of time, various biological processes such as microalgal cultivation, cyanobacterial systems, photosynthetic microorganisms ...

Dual Functions of Dietary Rubber Seed Oil Supplementation: Enriching N‐3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids and Enhancing Antioxidant Capacity in Pekin Ducks

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Dietary RSO supplementation improved growth performance, simultaneously enriched n‐3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (n‐3 PUFA), and enhanced antioxidant capacity in Pekin ducks, which suggested that RSO has the potential to be a novel n‐3 PUFA source and an antioxidant for Pekin ducks to generate animal functional foods.

A comprehensive review on the formation and mitigation of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH4) in edible oils: From oilseeds to oils

open access: yesCurrent Research in Food Science
Edible oils are susceptible to contamination by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), particularly PAH4 compounds, which include Benz [a]anthracene, Chrysene, Benzo [b]fluoranthene, and Benzo [a]pyrene, all of which are recognized for their toxic and ...

Emulsifier and antioxidant properties of by-products obtained by enzymatic degumming of soybean oil [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The enzymes used in degumming, called phospholipases, specifically act on phospholipids without degrading the oil itself. Degumming using a phospholipase C enzyme allows to meet all market specifications while it increases the oil yield.
