A Hybrid Bioprinting–Microfabrication Approach to Controllable Multitype Spheroid Arrays for Modeling Tumor Heterogeneity

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a “cancer‐in‐a‐well” technology that recreates tumor heterogeneity in vitro using multitype spheroid arrays. Combining bioprinting/microdispensing with microstructured culture devices, the system improves drug screening and modeling of tumor complexity.

Clinical outcomes of EGFR-TKI treatment and genetic heterogeneity in lung adenocarcinoma patients with EGFR mutations on exons 19 and 21

open access: yesChinese Journal of Cancer, 2016
Background Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations, including a known exon 19 deletion (19 del) and exon 21 L858R point mutation (L858R mutation), are strong predictors of the response to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) treatment in ...

Advanced Materials for Biologics Delivery to Brain Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Material innovation is central to unlocking the therapeutic potential of biologics against many central nervous system diseases, including brain cancer. By engineering carriers with controlled transport, targeting, and release properties, advanced materials can overcome the blood–brain barrier and tumor microenvironment, improving the delivery of ...

Detection and Its Clinical Significance of EGFR Gene Mutation and Gene Amplification in 187 Patients with Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2009
Background and objective It has been demonstrated that epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) signal pathway had an important role in the oncogenesis and development of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Small-molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs)

An Analysis of EGFR Mutations among 1506 Cases of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Patients in Guangxi, China.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
An association between epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and clinical characteristics of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was reported ten years ago. In addition, a different type of relationship was seen in different ethic races.

V843I, a Lung Cancer Predisposing EGFR Mutation, Is Responsible for Resistance to EGFR Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
IntroductionWe previously demonstrated that a family predisposed to lung cancer harbored a V843I substitution in the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) protein.

Deep Contrastive Learning for High‐Throughput Prediction of Drug Resistance Mutations from Sequences

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents DeepMutDTA, a deep learning framework aimed at predicting mutation‐induced changes in protein‐drug interactions and prioritizing variants potentially linked to drug resistance. Trained on large‐scale data, it incorporates SimSiam‐MuTF, a label‐aware contrastive fine‐tuning strategy that encourages separation between WT and MT ...

Tissue Heterogeneity of EGFR Mutation in Lung Adenocarcinoma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Tissue heterogeneity of EGFR gene mutation was studied in 10 formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples from four cases that demonstrated EGFR mutations in snap-frozen samples.

Selenium Nanoparticles Selectively Target KRAS G13D to Inhibit Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The mechanisms of SeNPs therapy in cancer treatment, encompass three parallel actions: (1) seleno‐amino acids, key metabolites, upregulate GPX2 expression, thereby inhibiting tumor metastasis via the GPX2‐HIF1α‐VEGF signaling pathway; (2) selenite (SeO32−), an inorganic metabolite, forms hydrogen bonds with amino acid residues 13–17 of the KRAS G13D ...
