Fatty acid nitroalkenes regulate intestinal lipid absorption

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research
Fatty acid nitroalkenes (NO2-FA) are tissue-protective and anti-inflammatory endogenous lipid mediators. A unique electrophilic character promotes reversible reactions with protein thiols, influencing key cellular functions. Given their generation during

Studies on the Synthesis, Stability and Conformation of 2-Sulfonyl-Oxetane Fragments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A library of 2-sulfonyl oxetane fragments has been synthesised and elaborated into lead-like compounds. The oxetane derivatives were stable to acidic and basic conditions and have 3-preferred conformations.

Ring‐Opening Arylation of Cyclic Diaryliodoniums via Cyclic Triaryliodanes as Aryne Precursors and Dynamic Aryl Reservoirs

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Cyclic diaryliodonium salts engage aryl Grignard reagents to trigger a self‐propagating aryne–arylation cycle. Transient cyclic triaryliodanes serve as aryne precursors and dynamic aryl reservoirs, delivering iodine‐capped teraryls with predominant meta‐selectivity. The preserved C─I bond enables outward π‐extension or inward recyclization.

Alcohol‐Directed Carboamination of Conjugated Enynes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
The first general three‐component intermolecular Pd‐catalyzed carboamination of conjugated enynes enables the coupling of anilines and aryl triflates to produce functionalized allenic amines, utilizing a native alcohol directing group to control regioselectivity.

Bis(pinacolato)diboron‐Enabled Ni‐Catalyzed Reductive Arylation/Vinylation of Alkyl Electrophiles

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Herein, the use of economically and environmentally friendly bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2Pin2) is described as a non‐metallic reductant in mediating Ni‐catalyzed C(sp3)–C(sp2) reductive cross‐coupling of alkyl electrophiles with aryl/vinyl halides.

Systematic study of the employment of enzymatic catalysts on the formation of carbon-heteroatoms

open access: yesOrbital: The Electronic Journal of Chemistry, 2012
The classic thio-Michael reaction is the one that involves the addition of a sulfur atom like the nucleophile of the reaction to an electrophile α,β -insaturated.

Electrophilic Selenium Catalysis with Electrophilic N-F Reagents as the Oxidants [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2017
A suitable oxidative system is crucial to electrophilic selenium catalysis (ESC). This short review offers the overview of recent development in ESC with electrophilic N-F reagents as the oxidants. Several highly selective transformations of alkenes such as allylic or vinylic imidation, pyridination, syn-dichlorination, oxidative cyclization and ...

Intermolecular Electrophilic Germylation Using GeCl4 and Al2Cl6

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
While electrophilic aromatic substitution is well‐established for carbon and silicon‐based electrophiles, it is extremely underdeveloped for germanium. Herein we report the first effective intermolecular Germa–Friedel–Crafts reaction. The process can be modified to enable selective synthesis of the mono‐ or the di‐aryl germane derivatives, ArGeCl3 and ...

New approaches to organocatalysis based on C–H and C–X bonding for electrophilic substrate activation

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
Hydrogen bond donor catalysis represents a rapidly growing subfield of organocatalysis. While traditional hydrogen bond donors containing N–H and O–H moieties have been effectively used for electrophile activation, activation based on other types of non ...

DNA damage and repair proteins in cellular response to sulfur mustard in Iranian veterans more than two decades after exposure [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Delayed effects of sulfur mustard (SM) exposure on the levels of five important damage/repair proteins were investigated in 40 SM-exposed veterans of Iran-Iraq war and 35 unexposed controls.
