Electroactive Electrospun Nanofibrous Scaffolds: Innovative Approaches for Improved Skin Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores the potential of electroactive electrospun nanofibrous (EEN) scaffolds for enhanced skin wound healing. It discusses how a variety of electroactive materials can be prepared into EEN scaffolds via electrospinning technology, and their applications in various wound types. The review provides insights into the future perspectives for

Oligonucleotide separation techniques for purification and analysis: What can we learn for today's tasks?

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 43, Issue 23-24, Page 2402-2427, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Nucleic acids are the blueprint of life. They are not only the construction plan of the single cell or higher associations of them, but also necessary for function, communication and regulation. Due to the pandemic, the attention shifted in particular to their therapeutic potential as a vaccine. As pharmaceutical oligonucleotides are unique in

Mitigating Cellular Dysfunction Through Contaminant Reduction in Synthetic circRNA for High‐Efficiency mRNA‐Based Cell Reprogramming

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study addresses the challenges of synthetic circular RNAimpurities that trigger immune responses and hinder efficacy. Key immunogenic byproducts are identified and develop a multi‐step purification process that produces ultra‐pure circRNA and enhances yields by over 10‐fold.

Ultraviolet Shadowing of RNA Causes Substantial Non-Poissonian Chemical Damage in Seconds [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Chemical purity of RNA samples is critical for high-precision studies of RNA folding and catalytic behavior, but such purity may be compromised by photodamage accrued during ultraviolet (UV) visualization of gel-purified samples. Here, we quantitatively assess the breadth and extent of such damage by using reverse transcription followed by single ...

Food metabolomics: Latest hardware—developments for nontargeted food authenticity and food safety testing

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 43, Issue 23-24, Page 2334-2350, December 2022., 2022
Abstract The analytical requirements for food testing have increased significantly in recent years. On the one hand, because food fraud is becoming an ever‐greater challenge worldwide, and on the other hand because food safety is often difficult to monitor due to the far‐reaching trade chains.

A mutate-and-map protocol for inferring base pairs in structured RNA [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Chemical mapping is a widespread technique for structural analysis of nucleic acids in which a molecule's reactivity to different probes is quantified at single-nucleotide resolution and used to constrain structural modeling. This experimental framework has been extensively revisited in the past decade with new strategies for high-throughput read-outs,

Neophytadiene, a Plant Specialized Metabolite, Mediates the Virus‐Vector‐Plant Tripartite Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tomato chlorosis virus (ToCV) infection induces production of neophytadiene, a volatile resulting from chlorophyll degradation that is highly attractive to whiteflies. OBP2, an odorant‐binding protein from insect vector B. tabaci, exhibits a strong binding affinity for neophytadiene.

Method development for the investigation of Mn2+/3+, Cu2+, Co2+, and Ni2+ with capillary electrophoresis hyphenated to inductively coupled plasma–mass spectrometry

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 44, Issue 1-2, Page 89-95, January 2023., 2023
Abstract The lifetime of lithium ion batteries (LIBs) decreases under continuous cycling due to various degradation processes, such as dissolution of transition metals (TMs) from the electrodes. Therefore, suitable methods to analyze the oxidation states of TMs are mandatory to better understand the dissolution mechanisms of TMs from positive and ...

Massively Parallel RNA Chemical Mapping with a Reduced Bias MAP-seq Protocol [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2013
Chemical mapping methods probe RNA structure by revealing and leveraging correlations of a nucleotide's structural accessibility or flexibility with its reactivity to various chemical probes. Pioneering work by Lucks and colleagues has expanded this method to probe hundreds of molecules at once on an Illumina sequencing platform, obviating the use of ...
