Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.

Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis in bacterial proteomics [PDF]

open access: yesProtein & Cell, 2012
Two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) is a gel-based technique widely used for analyzing the protein composition of biological samples. It is capable of resolving complex mixtures containing more than a thousand protein components into individual protein spots through the coupling of two orthogonal biophysical separation techniques: isoelectric ...

Color Routing and Beam Steering of Single‐Molecule Emission with a Spherical Silicon Nanoantenna

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We experimentally demonstrate broadband directional emission from single molecules using a single spherical silicon nanoparticle assembled via DNA origami. By varying nanoparticle (NP) size and emitter position, we achieve unidirectional emission, beam steering, and color routing at the nanoscale, revealing modal interference as the underlying ...

pI-Control in Comparative Fluorescence Gel Electrophoresis (CoFGE) using amphoteric azo dyes

open access: yesData in Brief, 2015
Amphoteric azo dyes were used for internal control of pI values in Comparative two-dimensional Fluorescence Gel Electrophoresis (CoFGE) [1]. The 2D-gel images of separated Escherichia coli proteins as well as those of colored amphoteric dyes separated by

Sweet silver: A formaldehyde-free silver staining using aldoses as developing agents, with enhanced compatibility with mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Protein detection methods after electrophoresis have to be sensitive, homogeneous, and not to impair downstream analysis of proteins by MS. Speed, low cost, and user friendliness are also favored features. Silver staining combines many of these features,

Synergistic All‐in‐One Electroceutical Platform Utilizing a Plasma–Photodynamic Hybrid Approach for Enhanced Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible hybrid patch integrating a robust cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) system with a high‐power, ultrathin bio‐OLED was developed to enable synergistic wound healing. This multimodal therapy, combining plasma and photodynamic treatment, enhanced angiogenesis, cell proliferation, and collagen deposition, demonstrating superior in vivo efficacy and ...

Mining Images in Biomedical Publications: Detection and Analysis of Gel Diagrams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Authors of biomedical publications use gel images to report experimental results such as protein-protein interactions or protein expressions under different conditions. Gel images offer a concise way to communicate such findings, not all of which need to

Bioactive Conductive Ti3C2Tx‐Ce Hydrogel Facilitates Spinal Cord Injury Repair Through ROS Scavenging and Mitochondrial Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bioactive conductive Ti3C2Tx‐Ce hydrogels with with scavenging ROS and alleviating neuronal mitochondrial dysfunction are exploited for SCI treatment. This functionality is attributed to interfacial activation modification of Ti3C2Tx with Ce3+ ions to in‐situ form Ce(OH)x‐mediated protective layer, which is beneficial to enabling stable intracellular ...

Gene induction during differentiation of human monocytes into dendritic cells: an integrated study at the RNA and protein levels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Changes in gene expression occurring during differentiation of human monocytes into dendritic cells were studied at the RNA and protein levels. These studies showed the induction of several gene classes corresponding to various biological functions ...
