The Evolution of the Sickle Cell Anaemia in the Region of Kinshasa: a Mathematic Modelling

open access: yesHipotenusa, 2022
We attempt to study the evolution of the sickle cell anaemia in the region of Kinshasa by proposing three models based on Markov processes.  The first two models namely, the idealistic and the quasi- idealistic models fail to completely describe the data

Microsecond electrophoresis [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2003
Although analysis strategies exist for probing a diverse array of molecular properties, most of these approaches are not amenable to the study of reaction intermediates and other transient species. Separations in particular can provide detailed information on attributes not readily measured by spectroscopy but typically are performed over ...

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Pathogenetic treatment for neurotrophic keratopathy

open access: yesJournal of Ophthalmology, 2018
Introduction. Continuous soft contact lens (SCL) wearing can result in development of neurotrophic keratopathy. Treatment of this pathology is long-term and, in general, symptomatic: tear-substitute, epithelizing, vitaminous, antibacterial, anti ...

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).
