Structure‐Guided Engineering of a Versatile Urethanase Improves Its Polyurethane Depolymerization Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The crystal structures of UMG‐SP2, a metagenome‐derived urethanase that degrades polyurethane, have been solved at high resolution in both ligand‐free and ligand‐bound forms with an amidase inhibitor or a small carbamate. Structure‐guided engineering of UMG‐SP2 improves the understanding of polyurethane degradation mechanisms and generates enzyme ...

Transfer conditions and transmission bias in capillaries of vacuum interfaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
A detailed study of the transfer of ions in transfer capillaries of electrospray ion sources is presented. The laminar flow field for various capillary sizes and wall temperatures is calculated. It forms the base of ion transfer simulation of a large number of ions with space charge.

Host Plasma Microenvironment in Immunometabolically Impaired HIV Infection Leads to Dysregulated Monocyte Function and Synaptic Transmission Ex Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Network‐based risk stratification of people living with HIV (PWH) on prolonged therapy using multi‐omics data identifies 44% of the patients are at risk of immunometabolic complications. A senescence‐associated myeloid cell‐driven plasma microenvironment drives immunometabolic dysregulation in at‐risk PWH.

Molecular Dynamics Simulation of Sympathetic Crystallization of Molecular Ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
It is shown that the translational degrees of freedom of a large variety of molecules, from light diatomic to heavy organic ones, can be cooled sympathetically and brought to rest (crystallized) in a linear Paul trap. The method relies on endowing the molecules with an appropriate positive charge, storage in a linear radiofrequency trap, and ...

Determination of parabens in human urine by liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A simple and sensitive method was developed for the simultaneous determination of methyl, ethyl,n-propyl,n-butyl, and benzyl parabens in human urine by liquid chromatography coupled with electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS/MS).

High‐Throughput Proteoform Imaging for Revealing Spatial‐Resolved Changes in Brain Tissues Associated with Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput proteoform imaging (HTPi) is established by combining matrix‐assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectrometry imaging and high‐sensitivity region‐specific top‐down proteomic analysis. HTPi enables the generation of annotated proteoform images with exceptional precision, high throughput, and deep coverage, showing distinct spatial ...
