A New Essential Oil from the Leaves of Gynoxys rugulosa Muschl. (Asteraceae) Growing in Southern Ecuador: Chemical and Enantioselective Analyses

open access: yesPlants, 2023
An essential oil, distilled from the leaves of the Andean species Gynoxys rugulosa Muschl., is described in the present study for the first time. The chemical composition was qualitatively and quantitatively determined by GC–MS and GC–FID, respectively ...

Turning Unpredictable Biomolecule Adsorption to Controlled Corona Formation: Focus on Carbon Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Controlling the protein corona formation onto carbon nanomaterials (CNMs) enhances their functionalities as platforms for cancer theranostics. Here, we reviewed the effects of the intrinsic and acquired properties of CNMs on protein corona formation, the consequent biological and toxicological outcomes, and the strategies to reshape corona formation ...

Determination of glutamine enantiomers in functional foods by a water-soluble lanthanide shift reagent-identified method based on the 1H-qNMR technique

open access: yesZhongguo shipin weisheng zazhi, 2023
ObjectiveThis study aimed to achieve rapid qualitative and quantitative analysis of the respective contents of glutamine (Gln) enantiomers in functional foods by establishing a water-soluble lanthanide shift reagent-identified method based on the 1H-qNMR

Exploring the Synergy of Combining BINAP and tCzBN Motifs Within Multi‐Resonant TADF Emitters to Enhance OLED Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents two MR‐TADF emitters, BINAP‐BN1 and BINAP‐BN2, based on a BINAP core and differing numbers of tCzBN units. Both emitters show similar solution photophysics, but distinct behavior in doped films, where BINAP‐BN1 exhibits higher photoluminescence quantum yield and suppressed aggregation‐induced emission broadening compared to BINAP‐BN2.

Chiral Inversion of 2-Arylpropionic Acid Enantiomers under Anaerobic Conditions

open access: yes, 2022
This work examined the chiral inversion of 2-arylpropionic acids (2-APAs) under anaerobic conditions and the associated microbial community. The anaerobic condition was simulated by two identical anaerobic digesters.

A Proline‐Integrated Donor–Acceptor Fluorophore: Water‐Vapor‐Responsive Mechanochromic Luminescence and Latent Fingerprint Visualization

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A proline‐integrated donor–acceptor fluorophore enables multifunctional luminescence through rational molecular design. Water‐vapor‐responsive mechanochromic luminescence (MCL) with circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) switching and efficient visualization of latent fingerprints (LFPs) are realized from this single small organic molecule.

Cytotoxicity evaluation of three pairs of hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) enantiomers on Hep G2 cell

open access: yes, 2008
Hexabromocyclododecanes (HBCDs) are additive brominated flame retardants mainly used in plastics and textiles. At the present time, these compounds are found in almost all environmental and human samples. In order to evaluate the environmental safety and
