Identification of Key Active‐Site Positions Controlling the Chemoselectivity of Aspergillus Brasiliensis Unspecific Peroxygenase

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
Unspecific peroxygenase (UPO) from Aspergillus brasiliensis AbrUPO catalyzes the aromatic hydroxylation of substituted benzenes. By integrating structural elements from well‐characterized UPOs in AbrUPO variants, position 186 was identified as a critical determinant of enzyme chemoselectivity.

An Indole Dearomatization Strategy for the Synthesis of Pseudo‐Natural Products

open access: yesChemBioChem, EarlyView.
An indole‐dearomatization/reduction strategy is developed to expand a collection of indole‐containing pseudo‐NPs. This approach enhances the three‐dimensionality of the original compound classes through hybridization‐changing conversions leading to topologically distinct novel structures.

Diversity Of ThDP‐Dependent Enzymes Forming Chiral Tertiary Alcohols

open access: yesChemBioChem, Accepted Article.
Thiamine diphosphate (ThDP)‐dependent enzymes are well known biocatalysts for C−C bond‐forming reactions. While this enzyme class is mainly investigated for the formation of acyloins of secondary alcohols, recent studies have expanded its scope to utilize ketones as electrophiles in asymmetric carboligation reactions for the formation of tertiary ...
