The oxidative oligomerization of a chiral mandelamide derivative (N-(4-hydroxyphenyl)mandelamide, 1) was performed in the presence of horseradish peroxidase, laccase and N,N'-bis(salicylidene)ethylenediamine-iron(II) to obtain chiral oligophenols 2.

Bacterial hormone-sensitive lipases (bHSLs), which are homologous to the catalytic domains of human HSLs, have received great interest due to their uses in the preparation of highly valuable biochemicals, such as drug intermediates or chiral building ...

Chiral plasmonic printing uses CPL as a chiral stimulus to guide asymmetric Ag deposition on chiral Au NRs seeds. Under CPL, hot carriers reduce Ag+, and the process is controlled by both the CPL handedness and the chiral SPR. L‐dc Au generates more hot electrons under LCP than RCP, while D‐dc Au shows the opposite, revealing chiral photon‐selective ...

A stereoselective functionalization method of cyclic imines under mild organocatalytic conditions was developed. Bifunctional cinchona alkaloid catalysts combined with carefully optimized reaction conditions to suppress background reactivity enabled highly enantio‐ and diastereoselective addition reactions of malonates to cyclic imines.

Pd‐Catalyzed Asymmetric Dearomative Heck/Tsuji‐Trost Difunctionalization of Naphthalenes
We have developed a palladium‐catalyzed asymmetric dearomative Heck/Tsuji‐Trost 1,4‐difunctionalization reaction of naphthalenes, affording 4‐aminospirocyclohexene oxindole products bearing two remote chiral centers. Through the effect of the newly designed chiral sulfinamide phosphine ligand with large steric hindrance, side reactions are inhibited ...

Enantioselective aminoarylation of ortho‐allyl anilines is achieved under mild conditions. Key to success is the electrostatically‐directed nature of the key aminopalladation step, achieved by using the sulfonated chiral ligand sSPhos on palladium. A detailed study of electronic trends allows tuning of the sulfonamide protecting group to enable good ...

Enantioselective Self-Replicators
Self-replicating molecules provide a simple approach for investigating fundamental processes in scenarios of the emergence of life. Although homochirality is an important aspect of life and of how it emerged, the effects of chirality on self-replicators have received only little attention so far.
