The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Genomic hallmarks of endocrine therapy resistance in ER/PR+HER2- breast tumours

open access: yesCommunications Biology
ER/PR+HER2- breast tumours are the most predominant subtype of breast cancer worldwide, including India. Unlike TNBCs, these tumours can be treated with anti-estrogens or aromatase inhibitors.

In Silico Design of Dual Estrogen Receptor and Hsp90 Inhibitors for ER-Positive Breast Cancer Through a Mixed Ligand/Structure-Based Approach

open access: yesMolecules
Breast cancer remains one of the most prevalent and lethal malignancies in women, particularly the estrogen receptor-positive (ER+) subtype, which accounts for approximately 70% of cases.

Cardiovascular complications in insulin resistance and endocrine diseases

open access: yesEndocrine Journal, 2023
Cerebrovascular diseases, such as stroke and cardiovascular disease, are one of the leading causes of death in Japan. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and an important risk factor for these diseases. Among various pathological conditions associated with type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance has already been reported to be an important ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Interaction of GPER-1 with the endocrine signaling axis in breast cancer

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology
G Protein-Coupled Estrogen Receptor 1 (GPER-1) is a membrane estrogen receptor that has emerged as a key player in breast cancer development and progression.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Blockade of AP-1 potentiates endocrine therapy and overcomes resistance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
UnlabelledThe transcription factor AP-1 is downstream of growth factor (GF) receptors (GFRs) and stress-related kinases, both of which are implicated in breast cancer endocrine resistance.
