Ultrasound Microbubble Treatment Enhances Clathrin-Mediated Endocytosis and Fluid-Phase Uptake through Distinct Mechanisms. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Drug delivery to tumors is limited by several factors, including drug permeability of the target cell plasma membrane. Ultrasound in combination with microbubbles (USMB) is a promising strategy to overcome these limitations.

レトロウイルスによる細胞融合において、標的細胞の断片がエンベロープ蛋白質発現細胞内にエンドサイトーシスによって取り込まれる

open access: yes, 2016
Retroviruses enter into host cells by fusion between viral and host cell membranes. Retroviral envelope glycoprotein (Env) induces the membrane fusion, and also mediates cell-cell fusion.

Cyclic azapeptide CD36 ligand attenuates cardiac injury and reduces long‐chain fatty acid accumulation after myocardial ischemia–reperfusion in mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Importance of Endocytosis for the Biological Activity of Cedar Virus Fusion Protein

open access: yesCells, 2020
Endocytosis plays a particular role in the proteolytic activation of highly pathogenic henipaviruses Hendra (HeV) and Nipah virus (NiV) fusion (F) protein precursors. These proteins require endocytic uptake from the cell surface to be cleaved by cellular

Ubiquitination in Control of EGF Receptor Endocytosis

open access: yes, 2008
Growth factors and growth factor receptors comprise a signaling network regulating cell differentiation and growth. Tightly regulation of this network is important to avoid excessive signaling and cell growth, which may result in cancer.

Flowers for Synaptic Endocytosis [PDF]

open access: yesCell, 2009
Exocytosis and endocytosis of synaptic vesicles are tightly coordinated to maintain a steady supply of new vesicles during periods of extended neuronal stimulation. Yao et al. (2009) now report that a synaptic vesicle membrane protein named Flower promotes endocytosis at neuromuscular junctions in the fruit fly Drosophila.

UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

SNX9 family mediates βarrestin-independent GPCR endocytosis

open access: yesCommunications Biology
Agonist-stimulated GPCR endocytosis typically occurs via the multi-faceted adaptor proteins known as βarrestins. However, endocytosis of several GPCRs occurs independently of β-arrestins, suggesting an additional mode of GPCR endocytosis, but the ...

Single Event Resolution of Plant Plasma Membrane Protein Endocytosis by TIRF Microscopy

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Endocytosis is a key process in the internalization of extracellular materials and plasma membrane proteins, such as receptors and transporters, thereby controlling many aspects of cell signaling and cellular homeostasis.
