Investigation of the Molecular Mechanisms by Which Endothelin-3 Stimulates Preadipocyte Growth

open access: yesFrontiers in Endocrinology, 2021
Endothelins induce many biological responses, and they are composed of three peptides: ET-1, ET-2, and ET-3. Reports have indicated that ET-1 regulates cell proliferation, adipogenesis, and other cell responses and that ET-3 stimulates the growth of ...

Role of Endothelins [PDF]

open access: yesDigestion, 1998
Accessible online at: http://BioMedNet.com/karger Hyperdynamic circulation as well as increased hepatic resistance contribute to portal hypertension in cirrhosis of the liver [1]. Hyperdynamic circulation with increased cardiac output, heart rate and plasma volume and decreased arterial blood pressure and systemic vascular resistance are characteristic

Astrocytic ET‐1 System Determines Microglia Phenotype Following Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study reveals that astrocytic ET‐1 system is solely activated by thrombin following SCI via RhoA/NF‐κB and MAPKs/NF‐κB signal pathway. The release of astrocytic ET‐1 drives microglia polarization toward M1 phenotype through YAP signaling via ETA and ETB receptors.

Drug discovery opportunities at the endothelin B receptor-related orphan G protein-coupled receptors, GPR37 and GPR37L1

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2015
Orphan G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) represent a largely untapped resource for the treatment of a variety of diseases, despite sophisticated advances in drug discovery.

Endothelins and hypoxia-inducible factor in cancer.

open access: yesEndocrine-Related Cancer, 2007
The endothelin system is a family of three similar small peptides, two G-protein-coupled receptors and two proteinases. Endothelins have several physiological roles, notably in embryonic differentiation and vascular homeostasis.

Comprehensive genetic analysis of poorly differentiated gastric cancer in young females

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Although the involvement of female sex hormones in the development of poorly differentiated gastric cancer in young females is controversial, our detailed analysis using RNA‐seq suggested that the female sex hormone, β‐estradiol plays a role in the development of poorly differentiated gastric cancer in young females. Abstract Aim The reasons behind the

Endothelin receptors promote schistosomiasis-induced hepatic fibrosis via splenic B cells.

open access: yesPLoS Pathogens, 2020
Endothelin receptors (ETRs) are activated by vasoactive peptide endothelins and involved in the pathogenesis of hepatic fibrosis. However, less is known about the role of ETRs in Schistosoma (S.) japonicum-induced hepatic fibrosis. Here, we show that the

Activin A‐activated ALK4 induces pathogenic Th17 involved endothelial–mesenchymal transition in systemic lupus erythematosus‐associated pulmonary arterial hypertension

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objective Autoimmune diseases, such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), are associated with pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a condition that can lead to heart failure. However, whether T cells also contribute to the occurrence of PAH in SLE, has not been clarified.

Simvastatin overcomes the pPCK1‐pLDHA‐SPRINGlac axis‐mediated ferroptosis and chemo‐immunotherapy resistance in AKT‐hyperactivated intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma

open access: yesCancer Communications, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a challenging cancer with an increasing incidence. The Phase III TOPAZ‐1/KEYNOTE‐966 study demonstrated chemo‐immunotherapy (CIT) as a significant advancement, potentially replacing traditional chemotherapy for advanced biliary tract cancer.
