Endothelial-Mesenchymal Transition in Vascular Calcification of Ins2Akita/+ Mice. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2016
Endothelial-mesenchymal transition (EndMT) drives endothelium to contribute to normal development and disease processes. Here, we report that EndMTs occur in the diabetic endothelium of Ins2Akita/wt mouse, and show that induction of sex determining ...

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

VASOMOTOR FUNCTION OF THE ENDOTHELIUM IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE AND HYPERTENSION

open access: yesУкраїнський Журнал Нефрології та Діалізу, 2017
Investigation of the functional state of the vascular endothelium contributes to the further study of the mechanisms of development and pharmacological correction, particularly in hypertensive patients with chronic kidney disease.

Investigation of Trypanosoma-induced vascular damage sheds insights into Trypanosoma vivax sequestration

open access: yesThe Cell Surface, 2023
Multiple blood-borne pathogens infecting mammals establish close interactions with the host vascular endothelium as part of their life cycles. In this work, we investigate differences in the interactions of three Trypanosoma species: T.

Tetrahydrobiopterin analogues with NO-dependent pulmonary vasodilator properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Reduced NO levels due to the deficiency of tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4) contribute to impaired vasodilation in pulmonary hypertension Due to the chemically unstable nature of BH4 it was hypothesised that oxidatively stable analogues of BR, would be able to ...

Pomace Olive Oil Concentrated in Triterpenic Acids Restores Vascular Function, Glucose Tolerance and Obesity Progression in Mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Pomace olive oil, an olive oil sub-product, is a promising source of bioactive triterpenoids such as oleanolic acid and maslinic acid. Considering the vascular actions of pomace olive oil and the potential effects of the isolated oleanolic acid on ...

Emerging role of ARHGAP29 in melanoma cell phenotype switching

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study gives first insights into the role of ARHGAP29 in malignant melanoma. ARHGAP29 was revealed to be connected to tumor cell plasticity, promoting a mesenchymal‐like, invasive phenotype and driving tumor progression. Further, it modulates cell spreading by influencing RhoA/ROCK signaling and affects SMAD2 activity. Rho GTPase‐activating protein

A bioinformatics screen identifies TCF19 as an aggressiveness‐sustaining gene in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Gene expression meta‐analysis in multiple prostate cancer patient cohorts identifies Transcription factor 19 (TCF19) as an aggressiveness‐sustaining gene with prognostic potential. TCF19 is a gene repressed by androgen signaling that sustains core cancer‐related processes such as vascular permeability or tumor growth and metastasis.

Step-wise CAG@PLys@PDA-Cu2+ modification on micropatterned nanofibers for programmed endothelial healing

open access: yesBioactive Materials, 2023
Native-like endothelium regeneration is a prerequisite for material-guided small-diameter vascular regeneration. In this study, a novel strategy is proposed to achieve phase-adjusted endothelial healing by step-wise modification of parallel-microgroove ...
