The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Inverse design of cooperative electromagnetic interactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The cooperative electromagnetic interactions between discrete resonators have been widely used to modify the optical properties of metamaterials. Here we propose a general evolutionary approach for engineering these interactions in arbitrary networks of ...

Graph Generalization for Software Engineering

open access: yesSoftware
Graph generalization is a powerful concept with a wide range of potential applications, while established algorithms exist for generalizing simple graphs, practical approaches for more complex graphs remain elusive. We introduce a novel formal model and algorithm (GGA) that generalizes labeled directed graphs without assuming label identity.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Calculate large-scale indicators via variation of small-scale data (CLIVS): A general known-to-unknown approach and its application

open access: yesJournal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering
Engineering problems often involve large spatial scales and long-term lifespans. This makes it exceptionally difficult to measure engineering parameters and predict disasters such as slope instability or tunnel collapses.

Targeting engineering synchronization in chaotic systems

open access: yes, 2015
A method of targeting engineering synchronization states in two identical and mismatch chaotic systems is explained in details. The method is proposed using linear feedback controller coupling for engineering synchronization such as mixed synchronization,

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
