Advanced Gastric Cancer Presenting as a Giant Subepithelial Lesion: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
A giant subepithelial lesion. ABSTRACT Gastric cancer may occasionally present with a subepithelial lesion‐like appearance. When a gastric gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is suspected preoperatively without definitive pathological confirmation, intraoperative frozen section analysis is recommended to prevent inappropriate surgical intervention.

A Case of Anti‐AMY1‐Positive Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma With Severe Hyperamylasemia Linked to Disease Progression

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
We present a case of anti‐AMY1‐positive lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC) with severe hyperamylasemia. To our knowledge, no previous cases of LUSC have been reported with both histological evidence of amylase production and hyperamylasemia. This case provides new evidence that LUSC can produce amylase and cause hyperamylasemia. ABSTRACT A 74‐year‐old

Evaluation of Selected Brain Damage Biomarkers in the Determination of Brain Damage in Dogs With Neurological Distemper

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
In this study, a significant increase in serum NSE, GFAP, CK‐B, IgM and IgM concentrations was determined in dogs with nervous distemper. It was shown that NSE, GFAP and CK‐B biomarkers have a useful and reliable diagnostic value in determining brain damage in dogs with nervous distemper .

Adrenocortical Adenocarcinoma in a Syrian Golden Hamster (Mesocricetus auratus) With Suspected Hyperadrenocorticism

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
A 2‐year‐old female golden hamster presented with non‐pruritic alopecia of the hindquarters. Diagnostic imaging and cytological evaluation revealed a unilateral adrenal mass consistent with an adrenocortical tumour, while biochemical analyses suggested corticosteroid secretion.

Fluoride inhibition of wine yeasts : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degress of Master of Science in Microbiology at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Stuck or slowed fermentations are costly in time and money to winemakers. There are many variables that can interrupt fermentation. One of the lesser known factors is the effect of fluoride on grape juice fermentations.

Early Prediction of Neurological Outcome After Cardiac Arrest‐Rationale and Design of the Prospective International Observational EARLY‐NEURO, a STEPCARE Substudy

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Guidelines discourage prediction of neurological outcome in comatose patients within the first 72 h after cardiac arrest. Increasing evidence suggests that patients with the most severe brain injury and those with no or minimal brain injury may be identified before 72 h using novel methods.

Revealing the Diverse Allergenic Protein Repertoire of Six Widely Consumed Crab Species: A Species‐Specific Allergen in King Crab

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 5, Page 1500-1521, May 2026.
This study comprehended the allergen profiles of six edible crab species using proteomic and transcriptomic analyses and identified 11 putative allergens. King crab has a distinct protein and allergen profile, with the discovery of malate dehydrogenase as a novel king crab‐specific allergen registered as Para c 11.

Melatonin Enhances Heat Tolerance via Increasing Antioxidant Enzyme Activities and Osmotic Regulatory Substances by Upregulating zmeno1 Expression in Maize (Zea mays L.)

open access: yesAntioxidants
Heat stress severely affects the yield and quality of maize. Melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxy-tryptamin, MT) plays an important role in various types of stress resistance in plants, including heat tolerance.
