[New knowledge of the molecular biology of enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) O157].

Gesundheitswesen (Bundesverband der Arzte des Offentlichen Gesundheitsdienstes (Germany)), 2000
Since 1982, enterohaemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) have been identified as a cause of diarrhoea and haemorrhagic colitis. The most serious complication of the infection is the haemolytic-uraemic syndrome (HUS) that develops in 5 to 10% of children with diarrhoea.

Applicability of DiversiLab Repetitive Sequence-Based PCR Method in Epidemiological Typing of Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC)

Foodborne Pathogens and Disease, 2013
Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) causes diarrhea, often with severe complications. Rapid and discriminatory typing of EHEC using advanced molecular methods is needed for determination of the genetic relatedness of clones responsible for foodborne outbreaks and for finding out the ...

A multiplex-PCR method to detect enterohemorrhagic (EHEC) and enteropathogenic (EPEC) Escherichia coli in artificially contaminated foods

International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health, 2000
In view of the considerable public health risk of the enteropathogenic (EPEC) and enterohemorrhagic (EHEC) Escherichia coli, a multiplex-PCR based method was used for the amplification of the slt genes and of the eaeA gene. Three pairs of primers, different from the oligonucleotides previously used by other authors, were exploited for the amplification.

[Bacterial agglutination test for diagnosis of enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli(EHEC) infection].

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 1997
Bacterial agglutination(BA) test was used to detect anti-E. coli somatic(O26, O111, O157) antibodies. A total of 355-serum samples were collected from 45 patients were positive by culture for E. coli O157:H7 (group I), from 47 HUS patients without EHEC(group II), from 50 family members of group I and II, from 22 patients of diarrhea with or without ...
