An Anaerobic Microbial Community Mediates Epigenetic Native Sulfur and Carbonate Formation During Replacement of Messinian Gypsum at Monte Palco, Sicily. [PDF]

open access: yesGeobiology
ABSTRACT The microbially mediated replacement of sulfate‐bearing evaporites by authigenic carbonate and native sulfur under anoxic conditions is poorly understood. Sulfur‐bearing carbonates from the Monte Palco ridge (Sicily) replacing Messinian gypsum were therefore studied to better characterize the involved microorganisms.

Adaptive branching in Evolution and Epigenesis [PDF]

open access: greenComptes Rendus. Biologies, 2003
We describe one of the simplest models that exhibit an adaptive branching behaviour. It is analysed both experimentally and formally, and its successive bifurcations provide a good model of what R. Thom called 'generalized catastrophes'. Two theorems on the stochastic adaptivity of the algorithm to very general shapes of target are given.

Reflection in the structure of cognition: its modes and types. Reflexive switching and the concept of epigenesis of a priori forms: the onion model of time

open access: yesStudies in Transcendental Philosophy, 2023
The paper is devoted to the role (function) of reflection in cognition and its modes (types) as part of the cognitive ability. Along with logical and transcendental reflection, Kant's transcendental shift (turn) is discussed, as well as the role of ...

Genetic and epigenetic aspects of the and genes in pubertal development and central precocious puberty: A review [PDF]

open access: yesPrecision and Future Medicine, 2023
The onset of puberty is a pivotal developmental milestone, and the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) and luteinizing hormone is a key factor in the initiation of puberty. Both kisspeptin and its receptor (KISS1) and KISS1 receptor (KISS1R)

UNIQUE ULTRA-RICH RARE METAL ORES OF THE TOMTOR COMPLEX AND PROBLEM OF THEIR GENESIS [PDF]

open access: yesМинералогия, 2019
Main genetic models of the formation of ultra-rich rare metal ores of the Tomtor deposit (Yakutia) are compared on the basis of their structural-textural features, mineral composition, and geologic setting: 1) reducing epigenesis of laterite weathering ...

Contradiction That Never Was: Epigenesis versus Modularity in Evolutionary Aesthetics

open access: yesAisthesis. Pratiche, linguaggi e saperi dell’estetico, 2022
Coevolutionary aesthetics has been forming since the early 2010s. Its contribution of great value has been the inclusion of cultural evolution into Darwinian theories on the origins of art and aesthetic judgement.
