Advancing molecular modeling and reverse vaccinology in broad-spectrum yellow fever virus vaccine development

open access: yesScientific Reports
Yellow fever outbreaks are prevalent, particularly in endemic regions. Given the lack of an established treatment for this disease, significant attention has been directed toward managing this arbovirus.

CD8+ cytotoxic T cell responses to dominant tumor-associated antigens are profoundly weakened by aging yet subdominant responses retain functionality and expand in response to chemotherapy

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2019
Increasing life expectancy is associated with increased cancer incidence, yet the effect of cancer and anti-cancer treatment on elderly patients and their immune systems is not well understood.

Epitope analysis for influenza vaccine design [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
Until now, design of the annual influenza vaccine has relied on phylogenetic or whole-sequence comparisons of the viral coat proteins hemagglutinin and neuraminidase, with vaccine effectiveness assumed to correlate monotonically to the vaccine-influenza sequence difference. We use a theory from statistical mechanics to quantify the non-monotonic immune

A major T cell antigen of Mycobacterium leprae is a 10-kD heat-shock cognate protein. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Several mycobacterial antigens, identified by monoclonal antibodies and patient sera, have been found to be homologous to stress or heat-shock proteins (hsp) defined in Escherichia coli and yeast.

An In Situ Curing, Shear‐Responsive Biomaterial Designed for Durable Embolization of Microvasculature

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
NeoCast is a next‐generation, solvent‐free, non‐adhesive liquid embolic designed for indications where deep occlusion is desired (e.g., tumors and chronic subdural hematoma). This novel agent offers ideal embolic properties: injectability, controllability, excellent visibility, and biocompatibility.

Cancer vaccines: uses of HLA transgenic mice compared to genetically modified mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Many tumor antigens have been identified that can be targeted by the immune system. Animal models that have been genetically modified to express human HLA molecules instead of their own MHC antigens have shown to be valuable in the discovery of peptides ...

Imine Crosslinked, Injectable, and Self‐Healing Fucoidan Hydrogel with Immunomodulatory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops an injectable fucoidan‐based hydrogel with tunable properties for tissue engineering. By oxidizing fucoidan (OFu) to introduce aldehydes, imine crosslinks are formed with amine‐containing polymers, enabling self‐healing, injectability, and long‐term stability (≥28 days). The OFu‐gelatin hydrogel demonstrated biocompatibility, immune‐

CLDN18.2 CAR‐derived Extracellular Vesicle Immunotherapy Improves Outcome in Murine Pancreatic Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
CLDN18.2 CAR‐T cell‐derived small extracellular vesicles (CAR‐sEVs) display potent cytotoxicity and prolong survival in preclinical pancreatic cancer models. They contain functional CAR proteins and granzyme B, exhibit antigen specificity, and effectively target tumor cells while sparing healthy cells.
