Population coverage by HLA class-I restricted cytotoxic T-lymphocyte epitopes

Immunogenetics, 2001
Vaccination using cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) epitopes has become a widely used immunization strategy, especially because their structure makes them an attractive alternative to the delivery of whole proteins as immunogens. Nonetheless, their use is limited, in particular because of their specificity, being recognized only by cognate HLA alleles.

The specificity of recognition of a cytotoxic T lymphocyte epitope

European Journal of Immunology, 1992
AbstractAn Epstein‐Barr virus (EBV)‐specific CD8+ cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) clone (LC13) was shown to recognize the minimal peptide determinant FLRGRAYGL from the EBNA 3 antigen of the BL74 strain of EBV. The equivalent epitope from the B95‐8 strain (FLRGRAYGI) is not recognized when endogenously presented and the peptide is 15‐fold less active than

Epitope mapping of lymphocyte phosphatase-associated phosphoprotein

Biochemistry (Moscow), 2014
Lymphocyte phosphatase-associated phosphoprotein (LPAP) is a transmembrane protein with unknown function. The available data on its close association with phosphatase CD45 and its phosphorylation depending on cell activation suggest that LPAP can play a significant role in the antigenic stimulation of lymphocytes.

Epitope Expression on Primate Lymphocyte Surface Antigens

Journal of Medical Primatology, 1986
The cross‐reactivity of peripheral blood mononuclear cells from 28 nonhuman primates was investigated with ten kinds of Leu series of monoclonal antibodies specific to human T‐, natural killer/killer‐, and B‐cells. The chimpanzees possessed all ten epitopes examined but the orangutan lacked Leu4 and Leu7 epitopes and the gibbons lacked Leu4, Leu7, and ...

Cloning of the mycobacterial epitope recognized by T lymphocytes in adjuvant arthritis

Nature, 1988
Adjuvant arthritis (AA) is a chronic disease inducible in rats by immunization with an antigen of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. After the isolation of arthritogenic T-cell lines and clones, it became possible to demonstrate that the critical M. tuberculosis antigen contained an epitope cross-reactive with a self-antigen in joint cartilage.

T Lymphocyte Epitope Mapping of Porcine Circovirus Type 2

Viral Immunology, 2007
Immunoreactive T lymphocyte epitopes within the ORF1, ORF2, and ORF 3 products of porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2) were mapped. For this, overlapping linear 20-mer peptides were synthesized and tested for their ability to induce T lymphocyte proliferation in porcine peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) isolated from experimentally PCV2-infected ...

Identification of Epitopes for CTCL-Specific Cytotoxic T Lymphocytes

1998
Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) are major effector cells in anti-tumour immunity. Consequently, a number of different strategies are being developed that attempt to utilize these cells in cancer immunotherapy. Among these approaches are vaccination strategies with tumour cells, genetically altered tumours cells, and synthetic peptide analogues of tumour ...

Epitopes recognized by human t lymphocytes on malaria circumsporozoite protein

European Journal of Immunology, 1988
AbstractThe circumsporozoite protein of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum contains regions of nonrepetitive sequences which are predicted to be T cell recognition sites. We synthesized peptides corresponding to three of these regions, and tested their ability to stimulate proliferation of peripheral blood lymphocytes from donors living in a ...

A specific cytotoxic T‐lymphocyte epitope presentation system for antitumor immunity [PDF]

open access: possibleInternational Journal of Cancer, 2009
AbstractThe magnitude of CTL‐mediated immunity response is highly dependent on the density of antigenic peptide–MHC I complexes at the cell surface. In this study, we adopt a novel strategy to promote the surface level of specific peptide–MHC I complexes.
