T-lymphocyte epitope identification and their use in vaccine development for HIV-1

Frontiers in Bioscience, 2002
Cellular immune responses mediated by CD8+ cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTL) and CD4+ helper T-lymphocytes (HTL) are needed to effectively control and clear many viral pathogens, including HIV-1. Thus, vaccines for HIV-1 capable of inducing CTL and HTL responses are now the focus of multiple academic and industry-based research and development programs ...

Identification of cytotoxic T lymphocyte epitopes in dengue virus serotype 1

Journal of Medical Virology, 2015
Dengue virus (DENV) has a serious and growing impact on global health and the exact role of DENV-specific CD8(+) T-cells in DENV infection is still uncertain. In the present study, SYFPEITHI algorithm was used to screen the amino acid sequence of Dengue virus serotype 1 (DENV-1) for potential epitopes, and seven putative HLA-A*1101-restricted and five ...

Hereditary abnormalities of the OKT4 human lymphocyte epitope in two families

Journal of Clinical Immunology, 1984
The lymphocytes of two unrelated black individuals exhibited no immunofluorescent staining by a monoclonal antibody, OKT4, that reacts with T helper/inducer cells, but the lymphocytes reacted normally with four other monoclonal antibodies that identify T helper cells. Four first-degree relatives of these individuals were available for study. They had a

Epitopes of the T19 lymphocyte surface antigen are extensively conserved in ruminants

Veterinary Immunology and Immunopathology, 1991
The reactivity of five monoclonal antibodies (mAbs SBU-T19, 197, IL-A29, CC-15 and CC-39) specific for the T19 molecule on sheep and cattle CD4-CD8- T cells was compared. MAbs SBU-T19 and 197 were shown to recognise separate epitopes on T19. All mAbs reacted with lymphocytes from several different ruminant species and the tissue distribution and ...

Epitope-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte induction by minigene DNA immunization

Vaccine, 1999
Plasmid DNA vaccines encoding full-length antigen often induce both potent antibody and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses. Here, we examine strategies to exclusively elicit epitope-specific CTL responses using DNA constructs expressing a minimal class I MHC-restricted epitope of the nucleoprotein (NP) of influenza virus.

Identification of murine cytotoxic T-lymphocyte epitopes of bovine herpesvirus 1

Vaccine, 1999
Major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules present endogenously derived viral peptides to CD8+ cytotoxic T-lymphocytes (CTLs). The objective of this study was to identify the H-2Dd- and H-2Kd-restricted CTL epitopes of bovine herpesvirus 1 (BHV-1), based on the allele-specific peptide motifs (ASPMs) of the above class I molecules.

Epitopes on HLA-DQw3 Molecules Recognized by T-Lymphocyte Clones [PDF]

open access: possible, 1989
The DQ region encodes HLA molecules where three different allo-specificities, DQw1, DQw2, and DQw3, may be recognized by antisera. The DQw3 antigen, found on DR4, −5, −7, −w8, and −w9 haplotypes, can be divided into DQw7 and DQw8 and w9 by restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis and certain monoclonal antibodies (MAb) (1).

Mapping the cytotoxic T-lymphocyte epitopes of Pichinde virus.

1994
One of the aims of this study was to determine whether the glycoproteins of Pichinde virus harbour any cytotoxic T-lymphocyte (CTL) epitopes on the murine haplotypes, H-2$\sp{\rm b}$ and H-2$\sp{\rm d}$ since, on neither of these MHC backgrounds are there any CTL epitopes on the nucleoprotein of this virus.

Expression of MHC class II epitopes on human T lymphocyte clones

Cellular Immunology, 1990
Twenty-four CD4+ alloreactive helper T cell clones and eight CD8+ cytotoxic T cell clones from five different donors, all of which were dependent on alloantigen and IL 2 for continued growth, were analyzed by FACS for cell surface expression of HLA-DR, -DQ, and -DP epitopes using monoclonal antibodies against monomorphic and polymorphic determinants ...

Regulation of the expression on mouse T lymphocytes of the epitope identified by monoclonal antibody 3A35

Cellular Immunology, 1987
Monoclonal antibody 3A35 (MA 3A35) has previously been shown to be an activation marker of macrophages and T lymphocytes. It immunoprecipitated from macrophages a 200-kDa molecule belonging to the T200 family and from T cells a 85-kDa antigen. In the present work, the factors controlling the expression of the epitope identified by MA 3A35 on polyclonal
