Familial OKT4 epitope deficiency: Studies on antigen density and lymphocyte function
Clinical Immunology and Immunopathology, 1985The family of a case of hereditary deficiency of OKT4 epitope on helper T cells was investigated. A 30-year-old woman was found to have hardly any OKT4+ T cells (0.7%, normal 24-51%), but normal OKT3, OKT8, OKT11, OKIa1, Leu1, Leu2a, Leu3a, Leu7, and B1 positive cells.

Evolution of epitopes on human and nonhuman primate lymphocyte cell surface antigens
Immunogenetics, 1983The T- and B-cell surface polypeptides detected by an international workshop panel of 100 mouse monoclonal antibodies (M.Ab) were biochemically defined by radioimmunoprecipitation. Eight T-cell-associated molecules and eight B-cell-associated molecules were identified by multiple antibodies in the panel.

Epitope spreading: the role of self peptides and autoantigen processing by B lymphocytes
Immunological Reviews, 1998Summary: A complex interplay of cells, soluble macromolecules, and antigen lead to a productive immune response that evolved for the survival of species. While the immune system is intended to protect from foreign agents, such as bacterial and viral infection, the presence of autoimmune diseases indicates that the system is not perfect in ...

We recently showed HLA-B35-restricted CTL activity for 10 HIV-1 epitopes in PBL from two HIV-1-infected individuals. In the present study, we established CTL clones specific for nine of these HIV-1 epitopes to confirm these HLA-B35-restricted epitopes ...

Identification and Characterization of Ovarian Carcinoma Peptide Epitopes Recognized by Cylotoxic T Lymphocytes [PDF]
Abstract : The purpose of the research is to identify new ovarian cancer tumor antigens that can be used in the immunotherapeutic treatment of ovarian cancer. The scope of this work involves (1) identifying the peptide antigens recognized by ovarian reactive cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) by using an antigen-unbiased, mass spectrometric approach to ...

A novel carbohydrate epitope on the surface of mouse intraepithelial lymphocytes
1990Our objective has been to reveal new information about the surface of intraepithelial lymphocytes (IEL) to try to learn more about cellular interactions within the gut epithelium. Large panels of rat monoclonal antibodies were prepared against isolated mouse IEL and screened for selective reactivity with mucosal lymphocytes.

Apoptosis-dependent subversion of the T-lymphocyte epitope hierarchy in lymphoma cells.
Cancer research, 2002Tumor cells undergoing programmed death are an attractive source of tumor-associated antigens, and evidences are available for their therapeutic efficacy in vivo when used either alone or in association with dendritic cells. However, little is known about the specificity of the immune response induced by such antigen formulation.
