Myostatin Exhibits an Evolutionarily Conserved Circadian Pattern in Skeletal Muscles

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 16, Issue 6, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction Myostatin (MSTN), a transforming growth factor‐beta (TGF‐β) superfamily member, is an evolutionarily conserved negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass. Loss of MSTN commonly promotes augmentation in skeletal muscle mass in all animal species examined.

A Peptide Antagonist of the ErbB1 Receptor Inhibits Receptor Activation, Tumor Cell Growth and Migration In Vitro and Xenograft Tumor Growth In Vivo

open access: yesCellular Oncology, 2010
The epidermal growth factor family of receptor tyrosine kinases (ErbBs) plays essential roles in tumorigenesis and cancer disease progression, and therefore has become an attractive target for structure-based drug design.

The Neuroimmunome of Hepatitis Patients Associates With Disease Severity

open access: yesJournal of Medical Virology, Volume 97, Issue 12, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Hepatitis is a systemic disease marked by neuroimmune dysregulation beyond hepatic inflammation. Using a systems biology approach, we conducted transcriptomic meta‐analyses across in vitro models, liver tissues, and PBMCs from hepatitis virus‐infected patients to identify neuroimmune signatures.

Prognostic impact of p53, c-erbB-2 and epidermal growth factor receptor on head and neck carcinoma

open access: yesSão Paulo Medical Journal
CONTEXT: p53, c-erbB-2 and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) are cancer-related proteins that are usually expressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). Their prognostic value remains controversial.

AMPK‐Dependent Epigenetic Regulation of Metabolism Mediates the Anti‐Cancer Action of Pterostilbene in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 69, Issue 23, December 2025.
This study investigates the anti‐cancer effects of pterostilbene (PTS), a naturally occurring dietary phytoestrogen, in a rat model of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) induced by a choline‐deficient L‐amino acid‐defined (CDAA) diet. Supplementation with PTS significantly reduces liver steatosis and tumor formation.

Metaphase and Interphase Cytogenetics with Alu-PCR-amplified Yeast Artificial Chromosome Clones Containing the BCR Gene and the Protooncogenes c-raf-1, c-fms, and c-erbB-21 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
A human yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) library was screened by polymerase chain reaction with oligonucleotide primers defined for DNA sequences of the BCR gene and the protooncogenes c-raf-1, c-fms, and c-erB-2.

A Global Transcriptomic Analysis Reveals Body Weight‐Specific Molecular Responses to Chronic Orange Juice Consumption in Healthy Individuals

open access: yesMolecular Nutrition &Food Research, Volume 69, Issue 24, December 2025.
This study aimed to investigate the molecular pathways involved in the health benefits of chronic orange juice (OJ) consumption through global transcriptomic approach in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs). Healthy volunteers consumed 500 mL of OJ daily for 60 days.

Breast Cancer Brain Metastasis: Bridging Biological Mechanisms to Therapeutic Innovations

open access: yesMedComm – Oncology, Volume 4, Issue 4, December 2025.
Breast cancer brain metastasis (BCBrM) is driven by a multistep metastatic cascade and shaped by dynamic tumor–brain interactions. This review integrates current mechanistic insights, from molecular signaling pathways to immune evasion, and evaluates preclinical models and emerging therapies.
