Inhibition of hyphal formation together with biochar addition promotes erythritol production by Yarrowia lipolytica

Biotechnology and Bioengineering
This study aimed to investigate the effect of hyphal formation in Yarrowia lipolytica and biochar addition on erythritol production by submerged fermentation. Hyphal formation significantly inhibited erythritol production by Y. lipolytica.

Teratology Study of Erythritol in Rabbits

Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 1996
The effect of maternal ingestion of the reduced energy sweetener erythritol was investigated in KBL:JW strain pregnant rabbits. Animals received 1.0, 2.24, or 5.0 g/kg intravenously once daily from Days 6 to 18 of gestation. Maternal effects (auricular edema, and bradypragia) were observed in the high-dose group.

Synthesis and Thermal Energy Storage Properties of Erythritol Tetrastearate and Erythritol Tetrapalmitate

Chemical Engineering & Technology, 2010
AbstractErythritol tetrapalmitate (ETP) and erythritol tetrastearate (ETS) were synthesized as novel solid‐liquid phase change materials (PCM) by means of the direct esterification reaction of the erythritol with palmitic and stearic acids. The ETP and ETS esters were characterized chemically using FT‐IR and 1H NMR techniques.

Erythritol: Crystal growth from the melt

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2010
The structural changes occurring on erythritol as it is cooled from the melt to low temperature, and then heated up to the melting point have been investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized light thermal microscopy (PLTM), X-ray powder diffraction (PXRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). By DSC, it was possible

Highly Efficient Erythritol Recovery from Waste Erythritol Mother Liquor by a Yeast-Mediated Biorefinery Process

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 2017
Erythritol, a natural sugar alcohol, is produced industrially by fermentation and crystallization, but this process leaves a large amount of waste erythritol mother liquor (WEML) which contains more than 200 g/L erythritol as well as other polyol byproducts. These impurities make it very difficult to crystallize more erythritol.

Electrical Supercooling Mitigation in Erythritol

2010 14th International Heat Transfer Conference, Volume 7, 2010
This report describes an experimental investigation into the effect of electric current in reducing the supercooling of erythritol. Previous studies have identified erythritol as a prime material candidate for moderate temperature thermal energy storage (TES) systems due to its high latent heat of fusion and melting temperature (118°C), but it has also

Decompression effects of erythritol on endolymphatic hydrops

Auris Nasus Larynx, 2009
The effect of the uptake of erythritol with and without the addition of pectin on fecal condition, p-OSM and p-AVP levels, and the endolymphatic volume was investigated to consider the possibility that erythritol is applicable as a therapeutic agent for Meniere's disease. Two experiments were performed using 100 female Hartley guinea pigs.

Combining genetically-encoded biosensors with high throughput strain screening to maximize erythritol production in Yarrowia lipolytica.

Metabolic Engineering, 2020
Erythritol is an important sweetener ingredient and chemical precursor for synthesizing materials with phase transition behavior. Commercial erythritol is primarily produced by industrial fermentation.
