Distinct interactions with cellular E-cadherin of the two virulent metalloproteinases encoded by a Bacteroides fragilis pathogenicity island. [PDF]
Bacteroides fragilis causes the majority of Gram-negative anaerobic infections in the humans. The presence of a short, 6-kb, pathogenicity island in the genome is linked to enterotoxigenic B. fragilis (ETBF). The role of the enterotoxin in B.

Evolutionary semigroups and Lyapunov theorems in Banach spaces [PDF]
The final version of this paper appears in: "Journal of Differential Equations" 125 (1996): 73-116. Print. We study evolutionary semigroups generated by a strongly continuous semi-cocycle over a locally compact metric space acting on Banach fibers.

Reduction of Murine Colon Tumorigenesis Driven by Enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis Using Cefoxitin Treatment [PDF]
BACKGROUND: Chronic inflammation and composition of the colon microbiota have been associated with colorectal cancer in humans. The human commensal enterotoxigenic Bacteroides fragilis (ETBF) is linked to both inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal

Bacteroides fragilis‐derived outer membrane vesicles deliver miR‐5119 and alleviate colitis by targeting PD‐L1 to inhibit GSDMD‐mediated neutrophil extracellular trap formation. Abstract Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) results from a breakdown in the symbiotic relationship between the intestinal commensal microflora and the mucosal immune system.

Cancer stem cells: Bridging microenvironmental interactions and clinical therapy
Cancer stem cells (CSCs) drive tumor progression through their dynamic self‐renewal capacity, epigenetic plasticity, and drug resistance. These cells interact bi‐directionally with the tumor ecosystem to promote immunosuppressive reprogramming and metastatic spread.

Effect of gut microbiota in the colorectal cancer and potential target therapy
The symbiotic interaction between gut microbiota and the digestive tract is an important factor in maintaining the intestinal environment balance. Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a complex disease involving the interaction between tumour cells and a large ...

This review systematically concludes the interaction between microbiota and immunity. We introduce six phyla: Bacteroidetes, Firmicutes, Actinobacteria, Proteobacteria, Fusobacteria, and Verrucomicrobia. We also elucidate molecular mechanisms, biological functions, diseases, and new therapeutic opportunities between microbiota and immunity. .
