An Integrated Approach to the Exposome
The editorial by Lioy and Rappaport (2011) provides a timely addition to the discussion about the exposome and exposure science. We are encouraged by the recognition of the importance of combining measurements of personal exposure with measurements of biological markers of exposure.

Biomonitoring in the Era of the Exposome [PDF]
The term "exposome" was coined in 2005 to underscore the importance of the environment to human health and to bring research efforts in line with those on the human genome. The ability to characterize environmental exposures through biomonitoring is key to exposome research efforts. Our objectives were to describe why traditional and nontraditional ...

Urinary metabolic profiles in early pregnancy are associated with preterm birth and fetal growth restriction in the Rhea mother-child cohort study [PDF]
Syftet med studien var att undersöka vilka möjligheter matematikundervisning utomhus kan ge för elevernas utveckling och lärande. Syftet var även att undersöka hur utomhusmatematik kan användas som ett komplement till den traditionella ...

Epigenetic Biomarkers for Environmental Exposures and Personalized Breast Cancer Prevention. [PDF]
Environmental and lifestyle factors are believed to account for >80% of breast cancers; however, it is not well understood how and when these factors affect risk and which exposed individuals will actually develop the disease.

The term "exposome" describes the totality of exposures to which an individual is subjected from conception to death. It includes both external and internal factors as well as the human body's response to these factors. Current exposome research aims to understand the effects all factors have on specific organs, yet today, the exposome of human skin ...

From the exposome to mechanistic understanding of chemical-induced adverse effects
The exposome encompasses an individual's exposure to exogenous chemicals, as well as endogenous chemicals that are produced or altered in response to external stressors. While the exposome concept has been established for human health, its principles can

Background: The exposome drivers are less studied than its consequences but may be crucial in identifying population subgroups with unfavourable exposures.

Throughout life individuals are exposed to a large array of diverse environmental exposures (exposome). Hair analyses can assess chronic exposure to a large number of chemicals with less intra-variability than urine and blood.

The exposome in atopic dermatitis [PDF]
AbstractAtopic dermatitis (AD) is a complex inflammatory disorder with multiple interactions between genetic, immune and external factors. The sum of external factors that an individual is exposed to throughout their lifetime is termed the exposome. The exposome spans multiple domains from population to molecular levels and, in combination with genetic
