Constraint and divergence of global gene expression in the mammalian embryo
The effects of genetic variation on gene regulation in the developing mammalian embryo remain largely unexplored. To globally quantify these effects, we crossed two divergent mouse strains and asked how genotype of the mother or of the embryo drives gene

Towards precision medicine for hypertension: a review of genomic, epigenomic, and microbiomic effects on blood pressure in experimental rat models and humans [PDF]
Compelling evidence for the inherited nature of essential hypertension has led to extensive research in rats and humans. Rats have served as the primary model for research on the genetics of hypertension resulting in identification of genomic regions ...

Characterization of Expression Quantitative Trait Loci in the Human Colon [PDF]
Many genetic risk loci have been identified for inflammatory bowel disease and colorectal cancer; however, identifying the causal genes for each association signal remains a challenge. Expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) studies have identified common variants that induce differential gene expression and eQTLs can be cross-referenced with disease

This study shows that BLADE‐ON‐PETIOLE (BOP) proteins regulate floral abscission and senescence in tomato by interacting with TFAM1 to form transcriptional condensates controlling the ARABIDOPSIS THALIANA HOMEOBOX GENE 1 (ATH1)‐mediated abscission pathway.

Integration of a pancreatic eQTL map with a GWAS meta‐analysis identifies 82 putative functional variants and 15 genes. The association between rs11102484 and pancreatic cancer risk is observed in a total of 5699 cases and 8467 controls. The G allele of rs11102484 weakens ZNF263 binding and the silencer‐promoter interaction, thereby increasing ST7L ...

Increase in Tomato Locule Number Is Controlled by Two Single-Nucleotide Polymorphisms Located [PDF]
In tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) fruit, the number of locules (cavities containing seeds that are derived from carpels) varies from two to up to 10 or more.

Integrated multi‐omic profiling maps the gene‐regulatory landscape of the coelomic mesothelium across heart, lung, and pancreas. A cardiac‐restricted regulatory program is uncovered in which TBX20 activates heart mesothelial (epicardial) cis‐regulatory elements, while MAF emerges as a conserved regulator of mesothelial identity.

(Re)-conciliation of genetics and genomics approaches for cotton fiber quality improvement [PDF]
The integration of genomics and plant breeding is driven by the increasing availability of sequence resources and by technological developments. The simultaneous measurement of the expression of thousands of genes is possible, and comparisons between ...

NIBAN2/FLII/RREB1 Axis Drives Glioma Stem Cell Malignancy via TLR3 Pathway Activation
NIBAN2, highly expressed in glioma stem‐like cells (GSCs), assembles with FLII and transcription factor RREB1 to form a nuclear complex. This complex transcriptionally activates stemness‐associated genes (e.g., CD44, NANOG) and metabolic enzymes (e.g., LDHA), thereby sustaining both transcriptional and metabolic stemness programs.

Dissection of the E8 locus in two early maturing Canadian soybean populations
Soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] is a short-day crop for which breeders want to expand the cultivation range to more northern agro-environments by introgressing alleles involved in early reproductive traits.
