This study presents the first telomere‐to‐telomere genomes and population resources for Diaporthe pathogens, uncovering the largest known fungal repertoire of secondary metabolite gene clusters. Structural variations and horizontal gene transfer drive cluster diversification, while specific rapidly evolving clusters control virulence, offering novel ...

Using Gene Expression to Annotate Cardiovascular GWAS Loci
Genetic variants at hundreds of loci associated with cardiovascular phenotypes have been identified by genome wide association studies. Most of these variants are located in intronic or intergenic regions rendering the functional and mechanistic follow ...

Genetic Influences on Brain Gene Expression in Rats Selected for Tameness and Aggression
Inter-individual differences in many behaviors are partly due to genetic differences, but the identification of the genes and variants that influence behavior remains challenging.

A symbiotic liaison between the genetic and epigenetic code [PDF]
With rapid advances in sequencing technologies, we are undergoing a paradigm shift from hypothesis- to data-driven research. Genome-wide profiling efforts gave informative insights into biological processes; however, considering the wealth of variation ...

The role of heritability in mapping expression quantitative trait loci [PDF]
Abstract Gene expression, as a heritable complex trait, has recently been used in many genome-wide linkage studies. The estimated overall heritability of each trait may be considered as evidence of a genetic contribution to the total phenotypic variation, which implies the possibility of mapping genome regions responsible for the gene ...

Castration‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) remains sensitive to ferroptosis, but its intrinsic resistance is poorly understood. Here, we identify NFIB as a master suppressor. SIRT7‐mediated NFIB acetylation drives its liquid–liquid phase separation, which promotes SLC3A2 transcription to inhibit ferroptosis.

Embedded CRISPRi Enhances Gene‐Silencing Efficiency in Drosophila
Current CRISPR interference (CRISPRi) technology in Drosophila has limited efficiency. This study introduces the emCRISPRi platform, which significantly enhances transcriptional silencing efficacy by embedding inhibitory domains within the dCas9 architecture.

A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative
