In this graphical abstract, the transfer experiment of antimicrobial resistance genes and metagenomic analysis are presented, and they are the core components of relevant microbial research. ABSTRACT High‐throughput sequencing technology (HTST) can effectively analyze the sequence information in the DNA of samples and provide a comprehensive ...

Case of Extensively Drug-Resistant (XDR) Typhoid with Resistance to Azithromycin
An 18-year-old boy from Haripur, Pakistan was diagnosed with extensively drug-resistant (XDR) typhoid fever after presenting with acute febrile illness. Blood culture confirmed the isolates of Salmonella Typhi. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing revealed that the isolates were extensively drug-resistant (XDR) to all the first line antibiotics in ...

Repurposing and Revival of the Drugs: A New Approach to Combat the Drug Resistant Tuberculosis
Emergence of drug resistant tuberculosis like multi drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB), extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) and totally drug resistant tuberculosis (TDR-TB) has created a new challenge to fight against these bad bugs of ...

Partial extensively drug resistance (XDR) tuberculosis in children.
Emergence of resistance to two most potent first line anti-TB drugs i.e. isoniazid and rifampicin (multidrug resistant TB MDR TB) is well known, but, the second line drugs used to treat MDR-TB are also showing resistance to the same strain of Mycobacteria (extensively drug resistance TB, XDR-TB). We report 3 children with partial XDR TB.

Multi Drug Resistant (MDR) and Extensively Resistant (XDR) Tuberculosis
Multi drug resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) is defined as tuberculosis that is resistant to at least isoniazid and rifampicin, the two most powerful first-line anti-TB drugs. Extensively drug resistant tuberculosis (XDR-TB) is defined as tuberculosis that is resistant to resistant to isoniazid and rifampin and to any fluoroquinolone and at least one of ...
