The Regulation of Trace Metal Elements in Cancer Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The induction of ferroptosis inhibits tumor growth, enhances anticancer efficacy, and overcomes drug resistance. Recent evidence shows nonferrous metal elements play a role in ferroptosis. This review focuses on how trace metals regulate ferroptosis processes like iron accumulation, lipid peroxidation, and antioxidant defense.

Exofection by exosomes: A transient functional cargo transfer

open access: yesExtracellular Vesicle
Exosomes have emerged as key mediators of inter-cellular communication, transporting a diverse array of cargos that can reflect the current biological state of the cell.

Magnetic Field‐Assisted Conductive Nerve Guidance Conduit Enabling Peripheral Nerve Regeneration with Wireless Electrical Stimulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a conductive nerve guidance conduit integrated with wireless electrical stimulation through alternating magnetic fields, which induces currents and creates a supportive microenvironment for nerve regeneration. In vivo studies show that this approach significantly enhanced myelin restoration, gastrocnemius muscle regeneration ...

Exosomal delivery of IL-10: Biodistribution, pharmacokinetics, and preterm birth prevention strategies

open access: yesExtracellular Vesicle
This study investigates the potential of extracellular vesicles (EVs) loaded with interleukin-10 (IL-10) to reduce infection-induced preterm birth (PTB).

Cell-derived nanovesicles prepared by membrane extrusion are good substitutes for natural extracellular vesicles

open access: yesExtracellular Vesicle, 2022
Extracellular vesicles (EV) as drug delivery nanocarriers are under intense investigation. Although clinical-grade EVs have been produced on a large-scale, low yield and high production costs of natural EVs (nEV) limit the relevant industrial translation.

Time‐Controlled Dual Targeting to Program Systemic and Intercellular Transfer of Therapeutic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aspirin‐liposomes loaded onto monocytes enable inflammation‐triggered targeting and efficient hand‐over of aspirin to inflamed cells. Monocytes uptake a significant portion of aspirin‐liposomes, prolonging therapeutic action. This approach enhances anti‐inflammatory effects through intercellular transfer, demonstrating a translational strategy for ...

Unveiling exosomal biomarkers in neurodegenerative diseases: LC-MS-based profiling

open access: yesExtracellular Vesicle
Exosomes, small extracellular vesicles secreted by various cell types, play a critical role in intercellular communication and are increasingly recognized as key players in the progression of neurodegenerative diseases (NDs).
