Xabans as Direct Factor Xa Inhibitors [PDF]
Direct factor Xa inhibitors are being used clinically. Clinical trials have shown promise for these compounds as substitutes for the currently administered vitamin K antagonists or low molecular weight heparin. Human tissue kallikrein 14 (KLK14), a skin protease, may mediate paracrine signaling in wound healing. KLK14 released by epithelial cells activates fibroblasts via PAR‐1 activation, inducing IL‐6, IL‐8, and CXCL1 expression. These cytokines in turn promote keratinocyte proliferation and migration, resulting in wound closure.
