PARCUKU: A RELIGIOUS RITUAL OF THE FAK-FAK COMMUNITY

open access: yesAl-Albab, 2013
Local Islam which is synonymous with the implementation of rituals is always interesting to discuss, either through free discussion or in the academic sphere, which will map out the speakers at both confronting and accommodating areas. Similarly, the Parcuku religious ritual of the Fak-Fak community gave rise to a wide range of supporting and opposing ...

Mechano-transduction to muscle protein synthesis is modulated by FAK [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We examined the involvement of focal adhesion kinase (FAK) in mechano-regulated signalling to protein synthesis by combining muscle-targeted transgenesis with a physiological model for un- and reloading of hindlimbs.

Projection Pursuit through $\Phi$-Divergence Minimisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Consider a defined density on a set of very large dimension. It is quite difficult to find an estimate of this density from a data set. However, it is possible through a projection pursuit methodology to solve this problem.

Cellular Snowballing: Cell Adhesion and Migration Drive the Self‐Assembly of Cell‐Microgel Biohybrid Spheroids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

Liver epithelial focal adhesion kinase modulates fibrogenesis and hedgehog signaling

open access: yesJCI Insight, 2020
Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is an important mediator of extracellular matrix–integrin mechano-signal transduction that regulates cell motility, survival, and proliferation.

New insights into FAK phosphorylation based on a FAT domain-defective mutation. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2014
Mounting evidence suggests that the FAK N-terminal (FERM) domain controls FAK phosphorylation and function; however, little is known regarding the role of the C terminal (FAT) domain in FAK regulation. We identified a patient-derived FAK mutant, in which

KCa3.1 inhibition switches the phenotype of glioma-infiltrating microglia/macrophages [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Among the strategies adopted by glioma to successfully invade the brain parenchyma is turning the infiltrating microglia/macrophages (M/MΦ) into allies, by shifting them toward an anti-inflammatory, pro-tumor phenotype.

ITGB1 Regulates Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer Development by Modulating the Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tumorigenesis and metastasis are frequently attributed to the intricate interplay between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment (TME). Comprehending the mechanisms and key regulators of cancer‐immune crosstalk in the TME is imperative for developing efficacious immunotherapy.

FAK deletion promotes p53-mediated induction of p21, DNA-damage responses and radio-resistance in advanced squamous cancer cells.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Focal adhesion kinase (FAK) is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase that is elevated in a variety of human cancers. While FAK is implicated in many cellular processes that are perturbed in cancer, including proliferation, actin and adhesion dynamics ...
