Fatty acid composition of Swedish bakery products, with emphasis on trans-fatty acids

open access: yesFood Chemistry, 2015
Trans-fatty acids (TFA) have been associated with increased risk of coronary heart disease, by affecting blood lipids and inflammation factors. Current nutrition recommendations emphasise a limitation of dietary TFA intake. The aim of this study was to investigate fatty acid composition in sweet bakery products, with emphasis on TFA, on the Swedish ...

Effect of 3-thia fatty acids on the lipid composition of rat liver, lipoproteins, and heart

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1997
To investigate the importance of factors influencing the fatty acid composition, lipid and lipoprotein metabolism in the rat, the effect of 3-thia fatty acids of chain-length ranging from octyl- to hexadecylthioacetic acid were studied.

FATTY ACID COMPOSITION OF BROWNFAT IN THE RAT

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Physiology, 1969
Fatty acid composition of brown, as well as white, fat of the rat wasanalyzed. Oleic, linoleic and palmitic acids accounted for more than 80 per-cent of the total fatty acids in brown fat. The proportion of linoleic acidwas markedly higher and that of palmitic acid considerably less in the brownfat of female rats than in that of male rats.

Effects of different dietary lipids on the fatty acid composition of broiler abdominal fat

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Poultry Science, 2004
The effect of three different lipid sources (soybean oil, chicken oil or bovine fat) on the abdominal fat fatty acid composition in 50 day-old broiler chickens was evaluated.

Effects of different breeds/strains on fatty acid composition and lipid metabolism-related genes expression in breast muscle of ducks

open access: yesPoultry Science, 2022
: Fatty acid composition contributes greatly to the nutritional value of meat, and breeds/strains are important factors affecting the composition of fatty acid.

Cholesterol changes the fatty acid composition of rat enterocytes

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research, 2003
The effect of free cholesterol on the fatty acid composition and growth of rat fetal enterocytes was investigated in the absence and presence of 10% (v/v) fetal calf serum.

Fatty acids composition in fruits of wild rose species

open access: yesActa Societatis Botanicorum Poloniae, 2011
The oil content and fatty acids profile of a number of Polish wild species of rose fruits were examined by GC. The total fatty acid contents ranged from 6.5% to 12.9% of dry mass in fruits. The composition of oils was similar in the investigated species.

Lipid and fatty acid composition of canine lipoproteins

open access: yesComparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2001
Lipid classes and their fatty acids were studied in the major lipoprotein fractions from canine, in comparison with human, plasma. In dogs, high-density-lipoprotein (HDL), the main carrier of plasma phospholipid (PL), cholesterol ester (CE) and free cholesterol, was the most abundant lipoprotein, followed by low and very-low density lipoproteins (LDL ...
