Fault-Tolerant Coherent H∞ Control for Linear Quantum Systems

open access: yes, 2022
Robustness and reliability are two key requirements for developing practical quantum control systems. The purpose of this article is to design a coherent feedback controller for a class of linear quantum systems suffering from Markovian jumping faults so

Global Rather Than Vertical‐Selective Saccadic Abnormalities in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To test whether vertical saccades are preferentially affected in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Methods PSP patients (n = 24) were compared to age‐matched controls (n = 94) and two degenerative groups (Alzheimer's disease, n = 20; Lewy body disease, n = 50).

The Dilemma Diagnoser Approach and its Application to the Fault-Tolerant Control of Planetary Exploration Rovers

open access: yes, 2013
Most of the fault-tolerant control strategies found in the literature assume conclusive diagnosis, i.e. the current fault mode of the plant is well-known. Although, speculative diagnosis can be a more realistic approach while noise corrupted measurements

Fault tolerant model predictive control applied to a simulated hydroelectric system

open access: yes, 2016
This paper proposes a joint data-driven and model-based approach oriented to the design of a fault tolerant controller for regulating the speed of a Francis turbine included in a hydroelectric system developed in the Matlab and Simulink environments. The

Risk of Retinopathy Associated with Long‐Term Use of Hydroxychloroquine in Patients with Rheumatic Diseases: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We aimed to estimate the prevalence and cumulative incidence of hydroxychloroquine retinopathy (HCQ‐R) and its risk factors among patients receiving long‐term HCQ with rheumatic diseases through a systematic review and meta‐analysis of observational studies that used spectral‐domain optical coherence tomography (SD‐OCT) for screening ...

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.

A change-detection algorithm for short-circuit fault detection in closed-loop AC drives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This paper deals with an on-line method for turn-to-turn short-circuit fault detection in low-voltage permanent-magnet synchronous machine drives. Due to the closed-loop control, the fault effects are reflected in the voltage.

Incorporation of Selenium into Sol–Gel‐Derived Bioactive Glass: Influence on Glass Structure, Bioactivity, and its Selective Cytotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Selenium was incorporated into a sol–gel‐derived bioactive glass to enable sustained therapeutic ion release. The selenium‐containing glass preserved bioactivity while selectively inducing cytotoxicity in osteosarcoma cells and maintaining osteoblastic viability.
