Time‐restricted feeding prior to Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection reduces tissue CD4+ T cells with limited impact on bacterial clearance

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

Efficient fault-tolerant collision-free data aggregation scheduling for wireless sensor networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper investigates the design of fault-tolerant TDMA-based data aggregation scheduling (DAS) protocols for wireless sensor networks (WSNs). DAS is a fundamental pattern of communication in wireless sensor networks where sensor nodes aggregate and ...

An application of adaptive fault-tolerant control to nano-spacecraft

open access: yes, 2014
Since nano-spacecraft are small, low cost and do not undergo the same rigor of testing as conventional spacecraft, they have a greater risk of failure.

Integrated fault estimation and accommodation design for discrete-time Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems with actuator faults [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This paper addresses the problem of integrated robust fault estimation (FE) and accommodation for discrete-time Takagi–Sugeno (T–S) fuzzy systems. First, a multiconstrained reduced-order FE observer (RFEO) is proposed to achieve FE for discrete-time ...

Efficacy of Intermittent Theta‐Burst Stimulation for Prolonged Disorders of Consciousness: A Prospective, Randomized, Controlled Trial

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Emerging evidence suggests that low‐frequency neural oscillations are dynamically regulated by consciousness levels, with the recovery of low cortical activity potentially serving as a neurophysiological substrate for conscious emergence. Targeted enhancement of these low‐frequency rhythms in patients with disorders of consciousness

Actuator Fault Tolerant Position Control of a Quadrotor Unmanned Aerial Vehicle

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper we design a fault tolerant single-loop position control of a quadrotor unmanned aerial vehicle. We design a nominal control law by using a feedback linearisation approach.

Design of Fault Tolerant Control System for Electric Vehicles with Steer-By-Wire and In-Wheel Motors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
In this paper we propose a fault tolerant control method which is capable of mitigating steering and drive-train system failures. By utilizing the steering system and the drive-train system complementarily, the proposed method will not need an additional
