Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Fast Fault Line Selection Technology of Distribution Network Based on MCECA-CloFormer

open access: yesApplied Sciences
When a single-phase grounding fault occurs in resonant ground distribution network, the fault characteristics are weak and it is difficult to detect the fault line.

Time-Frequency Transformation Technique with Various Mother Wavelets for DC Fault Analysis in HVDC Transmission Systems

open access: yesSir Syed University Research Journal of Engineering and Technology, 2023
HVDC transmission has become a cost-effective option for transferring high voltage over greater distances. Protecting an HVDC transmission line is more challenging than protecting an AC transmission line due to its low impedance and absence of zero ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Glycosylated LGALS3BP is highly secreted by bladder cancer cells and represents a novel urinary disease biomarker

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Urinary LGALS3BP is elevated in bladder cancer patients compared to healthy controls as detected by the 1959 antibody–based ELISA. The antibody shows enhanced reactivity to the high‐mannose glycosylated variant secreted by cancer cells treated with kifunensine (KIF).

Differential Protection of Distribution Network Based on VMD and Duffing Oscillator

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
The distribution network is grounded through arc suppression coil. When a single-phase grounding fault occurs, the faulting characteristics are often weak and unobvious, which makes it difficult to accurately locate the fault line.

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Faulty feeder selection based on improved Hough transform in resonant grounded distribution networks

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Due to the weak fault characteristics and inaccurate fault line selection during high impedance faults, this paper proposes a new method for fault line selection in resonant grounded distribution networks based on improved Hough transform.

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...
