Fruit descriptors for Feijoa sellowiana
The introduction and evaluation garden of native fruit tree species, located at INIA Las Brujas, Uruguay, is the result of extensive efforts of prospecting and introducing germplasm for over 20 years. The garden comprised wild, native accessions from Uruguay, foreign cultivars as well as progenies derived from planned hybridizations.

Thirteen varieties of feijoa (Feijoa sellowiana) fruit were collected and the physical and chemical properties of feijoa peel, flesh, seed, and leaf were analyzed. Large diversities in the physicochemical characteristics and phenolic and volatile composition among various parts and between different varieties of feijoa were observed.

Abstract This study aimed to characterize the aromatic profile of the flesh and peel (periderm/epidermis) of feijoa fruit, of cultivars Alcântara and Nonante, in response to Protected Environment Cultivation with plastic cover (PEC) and cold storage. A completely randomized design was used for each cultivar, with a two-factor scheme consisting of two

Centesimal and mineral composition of the fruit in Brazilian genotypes of feijoa (Acca sellowiana) [PDF]
This research was carried out to evaluate centesimal [dry matter (DM), ash, and crude contents of proteins (CP), fats (CFt) and fiber (CFb)] and mineral composition (Ca, Mg, N, P, K, Fe, Zn, Cu and Mn) of peel and flesh tissues of feijoa fruit (cultivars

Fruit frontiers: research on feijoa cultivation in Brazil and Colombia
In the twentieth century, Latin American countries were persuaded to import projects from the United States that aimed to increase production of basic commodities to supply the international market. As a result, space for agricultural practices of peasants and the cultivation of foodstuffs outside the logic of productivism shrank over time.

Fruit quality of Brazilian genotypes of feijoa at harvest and after storage [PDF]
