HEMORRHAGE AND FIBRINOLYSIS

open access: bronzeThe Keio Journal of Medicine, 1965
The influence of increased fibrinolysis on bleeding tendency was studied. In acute leukemia and aplastic anemia, the co-existence of high fibrinolytic activity and thrombocytopenia was frequently observed in hemorrhagic cases. In fibrinolytic state, the bleeding tendency was more prominent in thrombocytopenic animals.

Adrenaline May Contribute to Prothrombotic Condition via Augmentation of Platelet Procoagulant Response, Enhancement of Fibrin Formation, and Attenuation of Fibrinolysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2021
Background: Adrenaline is believed to play a role in thrombosis and hemostasis. The complex effect of its clinically relevant concentrations on thrombus formation, coagulation and fibrinolysis in human blood has never been specifically studied. Methods ...

7.5% NaCl Resuscitation Leads to Abnormal Clot Fibrinolysis after Severe Hemorrhagic Shock and its Correction with 7.5% NaCl Adenosine, Lidocaine, and Mg2+

open access: yesJournal of Emergencies, Trauma and Shock, 2018
Background: Hyperfibrinolysis is a common complication of hemorrhagic shock. Our aim was to examine the effect of small-volume 7.5% NaCl adenosine, lidocaine, and Mg2+ (ALM) on fibrinolysis in the rat model of hemorrhagic shock.

Frameless CT-navigation and local fibrinolysis in surgery of non-traumatic deep intracerebral hemorrhages

open access: yesUkrainian Neurosurgical Journal, 2010
The initial experience of Stealth Station® TREON®Plus navigation system (Medtronic, USA) and local fibrinolysis with aktilyze during operation because of primary non-traumatic deep intracranial hemorrhages was analyzed.

Fluorescent microspheres can affect in vitro fibrinolytic outcomes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
Hemostasis is the cessation of bleeding due to the formation of a blood clot. After the completion of wound healing, the blood clot is typically dissolved through the natural process of fibrinolysis, the enzymatic digestion by plasmin of the fibrin ...

Abnormal plasma clot formation and fibrinolysis reveal bleeding tendency in patients with partial factor XI deficiency

open access: yesBlood Advances, 2018
: Individuals with factor XI (FXI) deficiency have a variable bleeding risk that cannot be predicted from plasma FXI antigen or activity. This limitation can result in under- or overtreatment of patients and risk of bleeding or thrombosis.

Co-ordinated spatial propagation of blood plasma clotting and fibrinolytic fronts. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2017
Fibrinolysis is a cascade of proteolytic reactions occurring in blood and soft tissues, which functions to disintegrate fibrin clots when they are no more needed. In order to elucidate its regulation in space and time, fibrinolysis was investigated using

Concomitant usage of thrombolytic therapy and therapeutic hypothermia in a case of sudden cardiac arrest due to massive pulmonary embolism

open access: yesTürk Kardiyoloji Derneği Arşivi, 2019
Massive pulmonary embolism is a well-known cause of sudden cardiac arrest in the adult population. Systemic fibrinolysis can be a life-saving option. Therapeutic hypothermia is highly recommended for nontraumatic sudden cardiac arrest victims to minimize

Interplay between acute phase response and coagulation/fibrinolysis in chronic spontaneous urticaria

open access: yesAllergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology, 2018
Background Chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) is associated with activation of systemic inflammatory response and coagulation/fibrinolysis. Aim To study whether there is a relationship between the acute phase response and coagulation/fibrinolysis in ...

Internal fibrinolysis of fibrin clots is driven by pore expansion

open access: yesScientific Reports
Blood clots, which are composed of blood cells and a stabilizing mesh of fibrin fibers, are critical in cessation of bleeding following injury. However, their action is transient and after performing their physiological function they must be resolved ...
