The discovery of basic fibroblast growth factor/fibroblast growth factor-2 and its role in haematological malignancies.

open access: yes, 2007
Basic fibroblast growth factor/fibroblast growth factor-2 is one of the best characterized of the pro-angiogenic cytokines. This review describes its history, as well as its role in tumor angiogenesis associated with haematological malignancies, as ...

Bioprinted Stiffness‑Tunable Pancreatic Microniches to Decode Early Tumor Initiation Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Stiffness‐tunable GelMA microniches generated by microvalve bioprinting preserve wild‐type acinar identity while revealing a nonlinear, Kras‐dependent response to matrix mechanics. Intermediate stiffness promotes acinar‐to‐ductal metaplasia and proliferation, defining a permissive mechanical window.

Next-generation isoform-selective fibroblast growth factor receptor inhibitors

open access: yesTrends in Pharmacological Sciences
Dysregulated fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) signaling - driven by amplifications, mutations, or fusions - represents a clinically validated oncogenic driver across diverse malignancies. Pan-FGFR-selective inhibitors (erdafitinib, pemigatinib, and futibatinib) have been developed in clinical practice.

Biocompatible Conjugated Electrospinning Nanofibrous Membrane With Self‐Powered Piezoelectric Capacity for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐powered PCL/gelatin‐PVDF‐TrFE/MXene conjugated electrospun membrane integrates biocompatibility with enhanced piezoelectric responsiveness. Mechanical deformation is converted into localized electrical signals that stimulate wound‐repair cells proliferation and migration, promote angiogenesis and tissue remodeling, and accelerate full‐thickness ...

FGFR3 alteration sites and response rate to FGFR inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesPharmacological Research
Dysregulation of fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) signaling contributes to tumorigenesis and FGFRs have been clinically approved as treatment targets for FGFR inhibitor (FGFRi) in urothelial carcinoma (UC).

The effect of fibroblast growth factor on PC12 cells

open access: yes, 1985
PC12 cells, which differentiate morphologically and biochemically into sympathetic neuron-like cells when treated with nerve growth factor, also respond to fibroblast growth factor.

Microgels Enable iPSCs to Assemble, Expand, and Differentiate Into Organoids—From Sizable to High‐Throughput

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A chemically defined PEG‐based microgel platform enables scalable, reproducible production of three‐dimensional microgel‐iPSC constructs in multiple sizes. The system is compatible with high‐throughput automation and supports human iPSC expansion and differentiation within a single construct, including directed differentiation into cardiac organoids ...

Protein recruitment to receptor tyrosine kinase-mediated early signalling complexes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) signalling regulates the activation of numerous cellular processes in response to various external stimuli. Spatio-temporal regulation of protein recruitment to activated tyrosine kinase receptors is important for the ...

Basic fibroblast growth factor and fibroblast growth factor receptors in adult olfactory epithelium

open access: yes, 2001
Basic fibroblast growth factor (FGF2) stimulates proliferation of the globose basal cells, the neuron:ll precursor in the olfactory epithelium. The present study investigates the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor and fibroblast growth factor ...

Mechanoactive Biomaterials for Cell–Matrix Mechanotransduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract shows how individual triggers (force, light, or temperature) and combined optothermal or receptor‐targeted actuation induce material responses at the tissue, cellular, and receptor scales. Their spatial (global or focused) and temporal (continuous or cyclic) modulation determines the resulting mechanical output.
