Computational design of a pentapeptide inhibitor for fibroblast growth factor receptor 3b (FGFR3b)

open access: yesTURKISH JOURNAL OF BIOLOGY, 2013
Fibroblast growth factor receptor (FGFR) is a cell membrane protein and a member of the tyrosine kinase family. It has extracellular domains that can be activated by ligand binding, followed by receptor dimerization. FGFR3 has 2 isoforms, 3b and 3c. The R248C mutation in FGFR3b leads to ligand independent receptor dimerization and results in different ...

“Activation‐Resistance Elimination” Regulation by Lanthanide/Transition Metal Ion‐Coordinated Nanostructures Intensifies Cuproptosis and Tumor Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The lanthanide/transition metal ion coordination nanoparticles, La‐Cu@Lap/IWR‐1, with optimized coordination, have been proven to achieve remarkable results in realizing comprehensive tumor cuproptosis through efficient cuproptosis activation and multidimensional resistance elimination, thereby synchronously realizing the synergistic antitumor effects ...

Fibroblast Growth Factor Receptor Mediates Fibroblast-Dependent Growth in EMMPRIN-Depleted Head and Neck Cancer Tumor Cells

open access: yes, 2011
Head and neck squamous cell carcinoma tumors (HNSCC) contain a dense fibrous stroma which is known to promote tumor growth, although the mechanism of stroma-mediated growth remains unclear.

Reduced Graphene Oxide Enhances the Vascular Organization and Contractile Performance of Fibrin‐Gelatin‐Based Engineered Cardiac Tissue

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Fibrin–gelatin hydrogels functionalized with reduced graphene oxide create a mechanically stable and bioactive 3D environment for engineered cardiac tissue. The composite matrix promotes endothelial lumen formation, enhances sarcomeric protein expression, and increases contractile performance of embedded cardiomyocytes.

Targeting fibroblast activation protein-α to treat renal fibrosis

open access: yesCellular & Molecular Biology Letters
Background Renal fibrosis is the common outcome of chronic renal disease. Currently, there are no effective therapies. Fibroblast activation and extracellular matrix accumulation are key processes driving renal fibrosis.

Chemical Screening Identifies Danofloxacin as a Self‐Renewal Agonist of Embryonic Stem Cells through Alleviation of HDAC1‐Mediated Deacetylation of Tert and Prdm10

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identified Danofloxacin as a novel supporter of the maintenance of mouse embryonic stem cell (ESC) pluripotency. It functions partially by inhibiting HDAC1, which increases specific histone acetylation marks and activates key genes like Tert and Prdm10.

Leveraging Healthy Volunteers for Anticancer Drug Clinical Pharmacology Studies: A Review Article Featuring Futibatinib as an Example

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science
Early clinical development of anticancer drugs traditionally focused on exploring candidate treatments in patients. For instance, due to their cytotoxic action, administration of chemotherapies to healthy volunteers (HVs) for evaluation of their ...
