Case Report: Thrombosed Mitral Leaflets in a Patient With Rheumatic Heart Disease: A Rare Clinical Case

ABSTRACT Rheumatic heart disease remains a significant contributor to cardiovascular morbidity. We report the case of an 82‐year‐old man who presented with acute right‐sided hemiplegia. Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) showed a thrombus attached to the mitral valve leaflets (MVL).
